President Barack Obama is ordering the release of nearly a quarter of a million pages of records from the Reagan White House that were kept from the public during a lengthy review by President George W. Bush.
The Reagan documents – which include presidential briefing papers, speechwriting research materials and declassified foreign policy records — are expected to be released Monday.
Officials said the Obama administration’s quick verdict on the documents was prompted by an executive order Obama signed in January that gives the incumbent president 30 days to make such a decision, unless he sets a longer period. By contrast, Bush’s executive order on presidential records set no time limit on the White House’s review.
“With regard to the Reagan Administration records, I am writing to inform you that the President has not asserted executive privilege over any of this material,” White House Counsel Greg Craig wrote in a letter Thursday obtained by POLITICO.
“Pursuant to the President’s Executive Order, NARA may release these records — opening close to 250,000 pages of history,” Craig wrote to the director of the presidential libraries unit at the National Archives and Records Administration, Nancy Kegan Smith.

The Illinois State Archives told Judicial Watch that they never received any request from Senator Obama to archive any records in his possession. In 2007, Obama told Tim Russert that his records were “not kept.”

Why the rush?
Because Zero’s approval is in the tank and he thinks this will
help. They will be very disappointed when they find that
the Reagan and Bush administrations were honest and open and did nothing

Whomever is advising this imposter on how to really anger a lot of patriotic Americans, he’s doing a great job. There are millions of Americans that miss Reagan and won’t appreciate Zero’s attempt to tarnish his memory.
I would swap Ronnie Reagan for the current national disgrace occupying the WH in a New York second.
Not exactly anything that hasn’t been addressed by law. President Bush held the release of the Reagan Papers because some of the Reagan people were also in his administration.
President Carters was leased in full in 1996. The Presidential Records Act effective with President Reagans’ tenure provides for them to be released after 12 years. The 12 years expired in Jan. 2001 and President Bush essential kept them under wraps with an Executive Order until released by President Obama.

That is Obama’s purpose. To tarnish his memory and it wouldn’t surprise me a bit; if there will some rewriting of those papers.
He is so busy being politically correct he is going to get a lot of Americans killed for nothing.
