Smart move on the part of the pirates. With only the captain as a hostage, it would be stupid to kill him. But with a bunch of other hostages, they can kill the captain to show they mean business and still have the other hostages as bargaining chips.

Our Navy needs to BLOW up EVERY Pirate boat that comes anywhere NEAR them!

Obama's inept handling of this should be seen in the context of the Iranian hostage crisis. Ahmadinejad was one of the students who took our embassy workers hostage in 1978. Now he is the leader of Iran. You can bet he is paying very close attention to current events.
Obama is simplying incapable of bargaining from a position of strength with a man like that -- Ahmadinejad knows Obama better than Obama knows himself.

These muslim scum saw our President bow to his muslim lord of Saudi Arabia and just like sharks who smell blood they are circling in. I am absolutely convinced that bow helped encourage this.

If the four guys in the boat without any gas kill the US Captain, they have no bargaining chips. I seriously doubt the USN will allow these other pirate boats anywhere near the stranded boat. And like other hostage situations, when the hostage holder starts killing folks, then you must respond with force to save as many hostages as you can.

The North Korean missile shot over the heads of 38,000 Americans in uniform on the soil of our major ally, Japan, and nothing done (five days ago), precursed even THAT idiocy with the Saudi King.

Yes, indeed, and where are the SEALs? Only after several of these PsOS die painful, public deaths will be we begin to get a grip on this. Apparently the BO administration is consulting with the Carter administration on how to deal with such a situation.

It’s not what the USN suggests or this would have been over days ago. It’s how our black Jimmy Carter micromanages it.

I’m sure TOTUS will read a firmly worded speech warning the pirates about escalating the situation.

Testing, testing!Perhaps but a test implies a measure of uncertainty. What uncertainty remains after the president prostrates himself before the keeper of the mosques in a manner befitting a slave before his master?

The Seals are saying they know the city where most of the pirates are living. It ain't hard to figure out who they are. They are driving around in Mercedes.
Just cut them loose and let the Seals do their job.
I know no such luck.
