A US Navy destroyer stranded a hapless group of Somali pirates on the high seas. "We are surrounded by warships and don't have time to talk," one terrified pirate told Reuters via satellite phone.....the four blubbering buccaneers refused to release Capt. Richard Phillips, as the 510-foot destroyer USS Bainbridge, spy planes and drones kept tabs on the pirates' stranded, covered lifeboat, which had run out of fuel, with 10 days of emergency rations aboard. Capt. Richard Phillips offered himself as a hostage after his crew locked themselves in a room containing the ship's controls when the pirates boarded the vessel 250 miles off the Somali coast. US Central Command boss Gen. David Petraeus said the military will increase its presence near the Horn of Africa..... Capt Phillips, 53, had a radio and had additional batteries and provisions, Maersk said. The Maersk Alabama was ordered to sail for Mombasa, Kenya, with its cargo of food relief.....An 18-man, armed security detail from the Bainbridge was aboard the Alabama. "No one is coming to the pirates' rescue, that's for sure," said retired US Navy Cmdr. Kirk Lippold. "It's a waiting game and time is on the Navy's side. The pirates are in a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. The only card they have to play is the captain."

Thanks but you really didn’t answer my question.
If you don’t mind sharing with readers? What is your political belief system, in a nutshell?
You (wrongly) claimed Bush bowed to the Saudi king. Whether that was simply a mistake, or dishonest on your part, there’s no way to know. You then used a form of the leftist buzzword “neocon”, you defend 0bozo, then in your explanation you word things very strangely almost as if you are saying one thing, in such a way as to sound like you’re saying the exact opposite.
So. Which Republican do you support right now? (Bush isn’t running, so we really can stop talking about him now ... hint).
Which Republican do you support right now?
And why do you support them?
Thanks in advance. I’ll start. I’m a small-l libertarian America-firster. I support in order:
Sarah Palin
Duncan D Hunter
Mitt Romney, to the extent he can keep his flunkies from bashing Sarah Palin.
OK now. Your turn.
One thing the Brits got right was keelhauling, preserving the body in tar then hanging it on a yard arm in port for display until it eventually went away.
The other good practice was chaining the guilty to the warf in the Thames and letting the tide rise over him then preserving the body with tar and then displaying it until it went away.
Cool. Civilization and organization are such great fun.
Ships move on all axes making it hard to properly fix on a target let alone fix on multiple targets. Add to that the fact that the small lifeboat the pirates are in is also moving even more and it apparently has a cover/canopy of some sort.
A better solution might be to allow a Seal team to put some of their training into practice in the dark of night. A half dozen Seals popping up at the side of the boat in the dark might be able to take them out without too much problem.
I didn’t know I was subject to your tests!
Please tell me where I supported Obama?
I don’t support anyone in particular for the ‘12 nomination, because it’s 4 YEARS AWAY. If I was forced to choose between the ‘08 contenders and Palin, I would pick her.
The 2 statewide Republicans (Crist and Martinez) from my state are a disgrace.
If you ask if there are any Senate Republicans I admire, they are few and far between. I admire the Senators from Oklahoma, Demint and Sessions (less than 10%).
Thanks for your reasoned reply.
PS: Bush did not bow to the Saudi King. 0bozo (clearly) did bow. Quite deeply in fact.
At least one FReeper pointed out, the maneuver 0bozo did, the facial portion of which was unfortunately not visible in the Spanish video which is widely available - very well could have been something referred to as a “Salaam”, or touching the forehead to the recipient’s hand during a bow, in submission to a superior.
It really did look a lot like that.
