(CNN) -- Joel Osteen is the senior pastor for the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. It's America's largest congregation. His wife, Victoria Osteen, is the co-pastor there.
The Osteens, known for their optimistic outlook on life, visited "Larry King Live" Tuesday night for a wide-ranging interview that covered President Obama, same-sex marriage, the recent outbreak of mass shootings, the state of religion in America and more.
The following interview has been edited for brevity and clarity:
Larry King: Since you were last on, we have sworn in our first African-American president. What are your impressions [of Barack Obama]?
Joel Osteen: Well, I think he's doing a great job. I'm impressed with his skill, his calmness, his just strength under pressure. These are tough times for him.
King: And you, Victoria?
Victoria Osteen: I've been really impressed. In fact, I've been impressed [with] the first lady. She stepped up, and she's done a remarkable job.
King: Recent polls show 12 percent of Americans still believe Obama is a Muslim, and 35 percent say they don't know his religion, but to most of them it don't matter. Should it matter?
Joel Osteen: Well, it matters to me. It matters to me that I know he loves the Lord, and I think it's important that he has convictions from his faith. So to me, it matters when I'm making my personal decisions.
King: Does it matter to you, Victoria?
Victoria Osteen: It does. It matters to me. ... I believe he is a Christian.

It’s not the believers in Christ you need to be leary of.
Joel Osteen’s dad, John, was a class act. He would be thoroughly ashamed by what Joel and Victoria have done to Lakewood Church. IMO, professional wrestling has more credibility than Joel for actually supporting Zero.
Watch for him to suddenly start attending some church and fervently talking about his "Christian" beliefs.

It’s bizarre all around. Even if in another universe Zero was a decent president, why would Osteen claim that someone he doesn’t know “loves the Lord”? How would he know?
So it appears.
Oh and someone that is too well put together. Nice suit, not hair out of place, talk in a soft soothing voice, etc... Oh and they usually have nick names too. For instance, Sandy Burger. What kind of male is named... Sandy??? People fall for that crap all the time.
Those are the people I watch out for...
These two putzes are used car salesmen with a pulpit.
They are banned from the TV in my house.
How did he get to be a pastor?
Nepotism? I believe his father was pastor there first.
Olsteen is a fraud. What he advocates is not Christian.
It’s slick marketing.

The Osteen’s church must be The Church Of What’s Happening Now.
In this case it seems that Optimism = Naivete.
That’s not what the poster was saying.
It is “Christians” with the quotes being the key point.
Words almost fail me.
Joel—I think your optimistic affirming priority stuff jumped off the cliff. I normally respect your stance to speak persistently from a positive perspective. However, there are limits, imho. And, imho, you just shredded a serious one.
Christ also called the pharisees white-washed tombs and vipers; sons of satan.
