White House: Bow? What bow?

I really wasnt going to write about this again, mostly because I was convinced that the national media had let Barack Obama off the hook completely for his tradition- and protocol-breaking bow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. However, Ben Smith reports that the White House has now been asked about it, thanks to a Washington Times editorial scolding Obama for the move and that theyre denying it ever happened:
The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets. It wasnt a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and hes taller than King Abdullah, said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Check out this video. It was posted in an earlier post but I wanted to repost it and point something out. The White House says that Mr. Obama grabbed the king's hand with both hands and this was the reason for the appearance of a bow. Watch the video. Pause the video at the 5 second mark. He is in mid-bow at this point so, look just above Mr. Obama's knee in the picture. One can clearly see his left hand. He did not use both hands until
after the bow. The video then plays the cut back but enlarged this time and at the :22 second mark, again, you can clearly see Mr. Obama's left hand at his waist, not grasping the king's hand.
The Democrats are clearly denying the undeniable again. There is no lie the Dems will not tell. The Clinton years were only the warm-up.

The internal polling on this must be abysmal.

Depends what the definition of “is” is.

If it was just a two handed handshake and not a bow, then why:
Is his left hand down at his side, not holding the king’s hand?
Why did he draw his right leg back like a curtsy to the queen?
Why is his head/eyes below the king’s and looking at the floor, not the king?

I am probably one of the few Obama non-bashers here. Not because I like the guy, but I felt the constant bashing of Bush by the media and the left wing was counter-productive. Honestly when I heard about this, I figured it was a bunch of "uppity" freepers making a mountain over a "head bob" or some such.
Now that I have seen the video, I have to apologize to all you uppity freepers. Not only were you right, but it was WORSE than I could have imagined. The guy all but put down a rug and bowed three times in his direction. As an American, I am embarrassed. Obama was (is) obviously clueless.

I don't like that, either, but kissing and hand-holding don't signify what a deep bow does: subservience.

His knee is even bent, this is going to be long 4 years.
To: avacado
Either he is trying to pull a Lewinski or else he thinks we're dumb enough to not think he is bowing.

He was bent over so far, his balls were showing. And THAT was the symbolic meaning of it.
