“We may have a do-nothing weakling in the WH, but no weaklings on board that cargo ship - hopefully this sends those B@st@rds a loud message - leave our ships alone.”
Amen, amen.
My sea report got shot up by pirates will hopefully be a good excuse for not doing all the work.”
It is original!
What belief do the pirates have in common with the zero?
Ditto that. GO BUCS!!
Except maritime college midshipmen are referred to as “cadets” while onboard the merchant ships themselves. Ship’s Cadet is the position title. I know becuase I wuz one.
Cheers!

Spain will call for prosecuting the American crew.
The photo of the F4-Js, on my home page, was taken on the flight line at Cubi in 1972. Not my photo. But the one I posted on this thread is my photo.
An honest question....
I know details are still sketchy at best. But I find it hard to believe that only 4 hijackers were able to take control of the ship. Maybe that was their problem, I don’t know. But it is a large vessel with a substantial crew. I expect there were more hijackers.
What happened to the rest of them? I suppose we’ll learn more as details are reported.
“If Zero had any stones he would either mine or destroy the Somali ports until the Somalis quash the pirates in their nation.”
Definitely no stones....the merchant mariners definitely sent a better message than the ONe.
Pirated attack that is
“Anyways, it seems our current government, and the American people in general have long forgotten history, and what animals Muslims have always been. Their Koran still reads the same, and their desire to conquor remains intact.”
Excellent points...thanks for posting the history.
IF they knew how to swim and are still treading water.
Thanks on all fronts!
BTW, I heard the jerk CEO of the company that owns the ship say that the crew had been unarmed since it was "inappropriate" for them to act like "heroes." What a loser!
I can’t imagine how a kidnap victim would be prosecuted for fighting back. It’s like, if Flight 93 had not been crashed, would the militiamen (passengers) be heros or criminals?
poor daughter in law is a wreck this morning thinking that pirates may board a DDG
No disrespect to your DIL, but the mental image of that is hilarious.
U-S-A! U-S-A!
But one analyst at a private security firm says the international patrols are poorly coordinated.
He pointed to a recent case where one of the security companys guards escorting a vessel did not see a warship for over 100 miles and then came across three at once. At other times, warships were in Djibouti harbor instead of out patrolling, said the analyst, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he did not want to publicly criticize naval forces.

I'd love to see that ship enter port with a few hanging from the yardarm.
