Reprehensible Penn State Training Film: "How to deal with Worrisome Veterans."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhLq9NPLv0M ^

Posted on 04/08/2009 4:04:08 AM PDT by NY Patriot

This despicable video needs to be seen by as many people as possible.

The basic gist of it is...

"Dean Smith, I'm having a problem with one of my students.

See... he's a war criminal, oh I mean veteran & he is not unquestionably swallowing our leftist propaganda hook, line & sinker. He's very confrontational & disruptive... he challenges my assertions in front of the other students, asks that I provide objective data to back up my claims, and he actually has the nerve to espouse ideas that run contrary to our ideology.

I'm at my wits end & don't know what to do Dean Smith. Has Obama (all praise be unto him) announced when the reeducations camps will be opened, because my list of candidates is just getting longer with each passing semester?"

“Why aren’t Freepers outraged by his entitlement attitude?”

Because that’s wrapped up behind the scary veteran male with lethal military training who questions the prof. If they wished to make a neutral point about students with an entitlement problem they easily could have done so, but they make the person male, a veteran, and someone who does not oppose the war. Making the person a vet is, I think, supposed to raise the fear factor because he’s had military training and could pose a physical threat.

If they had chosen a more generic student then the entitlement problem comes to the fore.

And as you can read in the posts, being graded down for conservative or constructionist views is not uncommon, so is the scary vet actually feeling entitled to a better grade, or does he feel that the content of his work is what’s being graded, not the grammar?

I have personally been penalized in grading because I did not take the proper Marxist viewpoint, or pacifist viewpoint, and I know that this is a common complaint.

in my experience only liberal arts classes that I was forced to take had mandatory attendance because if you just studied the material you could pass without going to class...not so with my engineering courses. The EE profs explained that if you did not attend class, you'd fail the exams...therefore no need for a mandatory attendance policy

I need to revisit this- I said

“And as you can read in the posts, being graded down for conservative or constructionist views is not uncommon, so is the scary vet actually feeling entitled to a better grade, or does he feel that the content of his work is what’s being graded, not the grammar?”

A bigger issue is, this is how our professions and media get filled with leftists with a unified viewpoint. The leftists and Marxists get media, communications, and teaching posts because they get better grades.

Those with different viewpoints get filtered out.

"The student in this video, no matter who he is, appears to think he deserves a B just because he says he worked hard and he’s there. This is what professors see all the time. Why aren’t Freepers outraged by his entitlement attitude?"

You're such a leftist mole. Why don't you just admit it? You're not fooling anyone who is paying attention. You troll all over FR. The reason why 'who he is' matters is because someone CHOSE for him to be a veteran. It didn't happen by accident, it was done intentionally. Is that hard to understand?

Lets extend your logic a little further. In your mind, "Der ewige Jude" isn't an anti-Semitic film, because it is irrelevant that the Germans chose Jews as the characters/subject of the film, and so you can see that the Germans were just trying to illustrate bad behavior. Whoever they were, they were bad. So really, it could have been anyone, and no one has any right to object to it. Is that about right?

“there’s no such thing as “hate speech” in America. Yet.”

Sure there is. Use a racial slur (or just have them accuse you of it) while in a confrontation with a ‘minority’ and see if your speech doesn’t turn it into a ‘hate crime.’ Bam, de facto hate speech.

I am an alum, and I met my very conservative husband there. Yes, for the most part, it is moderate to conservative for a campus, but in the lib arts and fine arts it is mostly extremely liberal, just like most of academia. I knew the theatre professor who is playing the Dean, Charles Dumas, and like most of his dept, very liberal, though he kept his political views to himself.

I remember I *had* to take a womens studies course as a grad student there, and I got into many a catfights over 1. guns 2. religion 3. family life

raising the kids to understand the difference between conservativism and statism

We are going beyond that in our home by teaching that difference and also the difference between paganism/atheistic materialism and a Biblically centered worldview. I must point out that:
a) we homeschool,
b) the percentage of households that do that are less than 5%, and
c) The other 96% of the kids in this country are being "educated" by people trained by collectivists and atheists.

Not a winning formula, Hawk. Education is what has contributed to the situation we find oursleves in today. Vooting? The current administration and all of the congresspeople now and since this nation's founding were voted into office. I would suggest to you that the universal franchise of the last 90 years is not a solution; indeed, it is a large portion of our problem...

“I saw the confrontational attitude, and am repelled by it. But I’m even more repelled by the idea that it’s veterans who are being stereotyped as having this problem, and not rich kids or affirmative action students.”

Well, yeah, it’s true that vets never come back from horrible war experiences with “issues.” And in the very rare occasions they do, the VA always takes immediate care of it. /s

This is how they got control of our lives. They knew in the 1970s they could never win an election. So, they went underground, in the back door so to speak. They realized they could go into the schools, control the schools, start controlling local city and county governments, then state governments. They knew they could brain wash kids. That is why we have a modern day epidemic of stupid teenagers. They have been so dumbed down, mine boggled, that they cannot see the forest for the trees. Basically, they have won.

Right now, millions of teenagers, will soon pour into their voting block, more stupid, more dependent on government for their very existence, that they will vote for these thugs to have their next meal. I don't see America recovering. We might get the White House, and or maybe the Senate, but we are losing the battle. We have not lost the war quite yet, but we keep losing more and more battles. They realize things before our so called conservative or republicans think about it.

They say, well we cannot win the gun thing, so lets go after the ammo. There is no 2d Amendment right to ammo, cheep ammo, so lets tax it so high they cannot afford it. They are Bolshevik's with the old Soviet Union game plan, tweaked with changes to the mistakes the Soviets made.

I honestly believe we are in trouble. Very bad trouble. We have a country and a planet that has been brain washed. They control TV and many millions more watch that brain dead crap than listen to talk radio. They play the race game. They play the class envy game. They play the rich vs. the poor. The "I've got mine" and "you don't" game. They know that as long as 50.1% vote for free hand outs, that the 49.9% cannot stop them.

Which is funny because their worldview includes the mantra: “Question authority”.

Which is all well and good unless THEY are the Authority!!!!

Why aren’t Freepers outraged by his entitlement attitude?

Because his "entitlement attitude" is fictional, just as he is.

However, Penn State's smear of veteran students--through the production of this video--is real.

Don’t feel bad. I have an undergrad degree from Northwestern, circa 1963. I then left Ci-cago (I thought for good, only to find that it has now followed me to Washington). Imagine how I have felt as the Ayers/Obama scenario has unfolded. The president of the University, nonetheless.

Thank God for the ten percent of students who actually learn the material and use it.

Unfortunately it's the poor souls who actually use the material that get punished. It really is shades of "Atlas Shrugged". It is those 10% who end up having to shoulder the burdens of the other 90% and must therefore be punished for their abilities.

How and why? Well, the work of the competent is guarantted to be hyper-criticised by their inferior peers in order to cover up the incompetence of those peers and managers who were unable and incapable of doing the work in the first place, but never miss a chance to point out any possible criticism real or imagined in order to keep the playing field level. Ultimately those who can actually perform are kept from rising up the corporate ladder through the intimidation of constant criticism of their work by those around them and above them. They are denied promotions ultimately due to the circular management logic that says the company can't afford to promote them since no one else will be able to perform their jobs and besides, why would you promote someone whose work everyone is criticising? The guy who gets promoted is the guy they can most afford to promote, namely the one who couldn't perform in the first place but seems to have a knack of 'getting along' with others. The non-performer then finds themselves in a position of squashing any talent below them in the corporate ladder since they cant deal with the competition of those better than themselves. Wash/Rinse/Repeat. < end rant>
