The showdown over the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is coming.
The Senate has rejected a conscience clause. Now Catholic hospitals can be forced to commit abortions.
Democrats are caught between their pro-death supporters demands and attacking the Catholic Church. They will opt for the latter.
FOCA will force Catholic bishops to choose between federal money and mortal sin, and saying No! to murders of convenience by closing their hospitals. They will opt for the latter.
Aided by Americas Catholics, pro abortionists elected the most pro death president in history. Encouraged by this support Democrats are willing to confront Catholic bishops, but it will be a big mistake.
If Congress removes the conscious clause from government contacts with Americas Catholic hospitals and force them to commit abortions its in for a big surprise. The bishops wont cave to FOCA. Theyll fight back.
Arlingtons Bishop Paul Loverde has sent a clear response to the death lobby in Congress. He dared Congress to send jackbooted DoJ thugs after him Im not going to close the hospital, youre going to arrest me, go right ahead. Youll have to drag me out, go right ahead. Im not closing this hospital, we will not perform abortions, and you can go take a flying leap.
The Vatican sees passage of FOCA as the equivalent of a war between Obama and the Catholic Church.
St. Louis Auxiliary Bishop Robert Hermann said any one of us would consider it a privilege to die tomorrow to die tomorrow to bring about the end of abortion.
FOCA plus Obamas speaking at Notre Dame will cause adherent Catholic anger never seen before. There will be many red and surprised faces across the land. This will be a disaster for the Democrats. Catholic bishops are leading; genuine Catholics will follow..

With more and more people drawing a line in the sand, my hopes are raised that all of us will follow suit.
Please call the White House at 202-456-1111 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday, and register your own request to defeat the conscientious objection legislation now poised to be passed in Congress. This little bit of legislation will deny our physicians and hospitals who refuse to perform abortions the right to refuse on the basis of conscience.
It is hard to get through, but please try. The lines are tied up with calls (which is a very healthy sign) that Americans are stepping up, as we did with the amnesty bill, and letting Washington know we are not happy.
For the same reason that the gays are insisting on invading Christian and hetero institutions -
to destroy them.
More than you can count will stand arm in arm with those who choose civil disobedience, rather than death of an innocent — even if it means we suffer it for them. If enough of us link our arms, pray and do all to stand, then stand, the gates of Hell will not prevail — we’ve got that promise, and I believe it.
I totally agree. It’s blood money, and the Catholic hospitals could remain open without it. If they don’t, I would love to see the Catholic bishops take a stand, even if it means they would be arrested. What kind of message would that send to their flock and to America?
Did you know there are a lot of non-Catholic doctors that are against abortion? Heck, I even know an atheist who thinks abortion is wrong.
More and more secularists are pointing to religion as the cause of unrest and death. If we are forced to stand for our faith by unreasonable laws, then it is a way to eliminate whatever restraints there are on the global society through the merits of the Church age.
This isn't just about a woman's right to choose or mercy killing — this is about the right to believe in God and act upon that moral directive.
“May we all be subject to tests like this...”
Well said Peter. And may Almighty God grant us the courage and grace to stand by our faith.—JM
Is it possible for doctors to stage a “sick out” like unions do when they don’t get what they want?
Maybe suitably placed vacations and sick lieave will be a suitable alternative if all else fails.
Then there is carpal tunnel syndrome and gout, which may flair up at the most unusual times.
If state run hospitals are to do abortions, why the need to force doctors to do it who have a problem of conscience? Why is 100% participation necessary? Are expecting that many abortions under Obama that they must all carry their share of the load?
As I noted, the fascist anti-Christ Obama regime isn't worried about causing a shortage of health care workers or resources, as that will make it easier for them to take control of the entire industry and implement rationing, etc.
Thus, sick-outs, etc., would be counter-productive.

Nobody's going to jail. If you refuse to do abortions, you lose federal funding, which will make it harder to keep the doors open.
Don’t refuse to do abortions. Just raise the price to 5 million dollars for the procedure.
That’s a great idea!! But then obummer would just make sure the government (Us) paid for them.
hospitals can be forced to commit abortions (wrong), shut down.
Yet.
That "tax exemption" is OUR money--WE are the churches. To ask the church to pay taxes on their money is asking us to again pay--it's double taxation.
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
....not going to be able to exhort the people to live as Christians unless they give up their tax exemption.
I agree with you Lou L, but you have to agree, that is their most effective weapon. They have kept a lot of Pastors in check with that weapon. If our Pastors would dare them to try to stop them from speaking the truth, in spite of losing that precious “tax exemption” I think we would see some changes in America.
Because Baal and Moloch are jealous gods.
Been right here. Was just making a statement, not asking a question. Will be more careful next time. Sorry
