The scene was so gruesome that even seasoned emergency responders broke down and cried.
"They were never agressive; never seen them agressive," Watson said. "Never bit no one."
"I'm scared," Watson said. "I've got three kids who are going to be without a mom to be there for them."
Watson was sentenced to seven years in prison; that's part of the reason she can't stop crying.

Nothing wrong with having 200 lb chimp in diapers in your home in a residential neighborhood. (sic)
Same deal - highly unpredictable animals that can kill you in seconds and delusional owners.
Because we value freedom.
Not exactly. They are merely doing what they are bred to do. Just like border collies instinctively herd and labs instinctively retrieve. Pit bulls instinctively kill. They were bred for it.
That the particular behavior they are bred for is one of which you disapprove doesn't make it "genetic damage."
Ditto! Well said.
“Pit bulls kill child - Owners get 7 years”
When abortionists murder a baby, abortionists get $300.
Agreed!
I know of a herpatologist that had a poisinous snake (I forget what kind, a cobra maybe). It “never bit no one” either, until it did one day. Was it the snakes fault that the owner got bit, poisoned, and killed? No, it was just a snake and snakes bite. It was his own fault for ignoring that reality. Same with pit bulls. They bite. It isn’t their fault. That’s what they do. If you fail to maintain control over that animal and someone gets bit, mauled, or killed, it’s your fault as surely as if you put a gun to their head and shot them. 7 years? These folks got off too easy.
but never at the expense of another citizen’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Cannot understand why Pit Bulls are allowed in this country. There's no significant difference in temperment between pit bulls and any other terrier. They are strong, energetic, and very social dogs.
The problem is with owners who think having a tough, mean dog is "cool". Used to be these folks would have German Shepherds, then it was Dobermans, then Rottweilers. Now it's the Pit Bulls.
Get rid of the Pit Bulls, and these idiots would get some other kind of dog, Akitas, Mastiffs, Airedales, whatever, and the dogs they'd get would be just as dangerous as their Pit Bulls, because it's not the dog that is the problem, it's the way the idiots are raising them.
“Typical comment from pit bull owners - “They were never aggressive ...”
Typical comment from driver of a car that just pulled out in front of a motorcycle. “I didn’t see you.’
The reason we have these laws is to get peoples attention, OMG if my pit bull rips a kid apart, I could go to jail. Well yeah.
... and bisected by the “poor speller” curve.
I never owned one, but a friend did. The first time I met the dog it literally knocked me over so it could lick my face. It just got friendlier from there. The breed may not be perfect, but it is certainly not the time bomb people make it out to be. It boils down to the responsibility of the owner and treatment of the dog. That is true of all dogs, not just pit bulls.
Sorry Man, just not so!!!

Certainly, but that was partly due to negligence. Over 99% of pit bulls are owned with no problems. It is a dangerous breed, and know that responsible owners have to take special precautions. But is the pit bull breed the place the line is drawn? Banning pit bulls would bring into question the right to own another dozen breeds, and after those are banned, then breeds will be crossbred.

“Because we value freedom’
Your freedom stops at the edge of my property, well actually at the edge of yours as there could be public access between us.
‘That is true of all dogs, not just pit bulls.’
So why not get a lab?
