On Monday, the UK's Evening Standard, at its "This Is London" site, matter-of-factly noted the following in the final sentenceof its report about President Obama's upcoming European trip (bold is mine):

Accompanying the party will be a total of 500 officials including kitchen staff, 35 vehicles in all, four speech writers and 12 teleprompters.

If W had used teleprompters, the MSM would have laughed him off the podium.

Maybe Zero just likes looking at himself.

But you gotta love his 500 person posse. He’s got a bigger posse than Sean Puffy Combs or Flava Flav. And those guys only have a pimped out Escalades with tinted windows, Obama’s got 30 black SUVs with tinted windows and a fleet of Black Hawks for international travel AND 2 Air Force Ones. I’m just waiting for him to show up to a speech wearing a gold grill that says POTUS spelled out in diamonds.

I think they mean “the textbook sized panes of glass holding the president’s prepared remarks LEAD him wherever he goes.”

(interesting they didn’t capitalize “President”...)

W might not have used teleprompters as much as O, but he most certainly used teleprompters.

Can we concentrate on more important things? How about this from 2002?

“Mr Bush’s traveling party includes the Air Force One 747, a back-up 747, a 757 jet and four helicopters.

On Thursday armoured cars arrived at the London airport – which led to 60-minute delays for some passengers.

On Friday, four helicopters will land as part of a major rehearsal ahead of the visit.

Sources at the airport told The Daily Telegraph that the aircraft “flow rate” will be reduced from the usual 42 planes an hour to just 24.

That will cause a backlog that will take six to seven hours to clear. In total, Heathrow handles around 180,000 passengers every day.

On Sunday the delays are expected to be worse. Airport authorities have been ordered to close the runway to inspect it then the seven aircraft will land, causing more disruption.

It is feared the backlogs could take seven hours to clear.

The President’s entourage will expect landing priority from air traffic controllers.”

I loved this quote from the New York Times:

"Mr. Obama can be an exceptionally careful public speaker, to the point that he uses teleprompters more often than past presidents have ...."

These guys now dropped even a pretense of being able to think straight. I guess, that's indeed the definition of "exceptionally careful public speaker" (formerly known as a dummy)...

Ward Churchill, copying other people's writings as his own, must be just "an exceptionally careful writer", I suppose.

From the article: “the president's huge retinue could be scaled back to something less than the triumphal march from “Aida.””

LOL! I know he’s shading his eyes to read the tele, but I think he’s also saluting his superior.

So this calls for a Photoshop expert to make a “Last Supper” image with Obama in the center surrounded by 12 teleprompters.
