Memes and analysis, April 5, 2009
First... sorry about last week. My wife was out of town and I was playing "Mr. Mom" (mostly providing taxi service for two of our children) and I just ran out of time.
Now to this weeks shows.
The pattern I described two weeks ago is still in place. These shows are primarily set up to promote the Obama administration's twisted version of reality and to position any opponents for criticism and ridicule.
The themes (as opposed to the memes) this week are the auto industry bail out and Obama's triumphal trip to Europe.
The memes on those themes are:
- Auto industry bail out
- All of the problems with the auto industry are the fault of the stupid, greedy, fat cat management (Michael Moore was right!) and George Bush
- Pay no attention to the (stupid, greedy. lazy, corrupt) unions behind the curtain
- All of the red state (anti union) politicians with non union auto factories better kiss those jobs, and their careers, goodbye, Obama's in charge now!
- Obama's trip to Europe
- The One is loved by all of the world, this trip proves it!
- The One can accomplish miracles in foreign policy, despite all of the problems the United States has caused in the world (everything bad is our fault, after all), particularly in the last 8 years
The other big issue this week, though introduced subtly and as a background issue, is the emergence of "the need for One World Government to save us all" as a theme to be sold to us ignorant louts. There are two members of the CFR on this week to introduce them as "reasonable voices to be listened to," (both were Bushies, so they can't be evil, can they?) along with others who are advocates of the US surrendering sovereignty "for the good of the world." Watch for this to get more attention (particularly more positive propaganda from the DBM) in the coming months. Watch particularly for extremist loons (black helicopter and Lyndon LaRouche types) to be promoted by the DBM as the official spokesmen for any opposition (can anyone say "Pat Buchanan?").
I'm mildly interested in seeing Newt, particularly to see if he will explicitly back off on criticism of Rush (I expect him to). I also want to hear from the junior senator from my state, Bob Corker, who I've had mixed feelings about. He's one of those I feel are being targeted by Obama over the auto industry (read union) issue. I expect our popular Democrat governor, Bredesen, to go up against him next year. It will be "in sadness, not in anger," as they're best buds. This may be a set up for that.
Oh, and even though Geithner was the bureaucrat charged with overseeing and regulating the big New York banks at the heart of the current financial crisis, he tried, but it really was all George Bush's fault, so you can't blame Timmy. He's a genius who can save us, don'tcha know?. Obama tells us so.

The One can accomplish miracles in foreign policy, despite all of the problems the United States has caused in the world (everything bad is our fault, after all), particularly in the last 8 yearsLOL. Didn't take you long to catch on to that. They are presenting him as if he ripped his shirt open to show the big S on his chest and he calmed the trouble waters. LOL. They are literally making things up as they go.

Check out the Rush transcript I linked to. They’re not just making it up, they’re manufacturing it on an assembly line. We’re concentrating on seeing Atlas Shrugged come to be while they’re implementing Orwell’s 1984. The Ministry of Truth writ large.

I can’t find the Rush link. Looking.
As to what you said, yes. It’s like a bad movie playing out before my eyes.
People are taking to the streets, my friend. Not like the nut cases and anarchists, but just the people. We shall see.

I tried watching some of these but the level of Soviet style propaganda by the talking heads is bordering on criminal, IMO. One thing I did notice, as Obama’s approval ratings drop, they are raising Michelle up to be the new Princess Diana....They are tickled by the power they have to shape the opinions of the sheeple.

You got it right. It's all about millhouses numbers. They know once they tank the free ride is over.
They will then have to work (steal) legislation.
