Oh no. I just switched over and they have SNL on. Go figure.
Try KDKA...they are on it right now.
I heard the reporterette
reporterette? Is there any excuse for this made-up word other than misogyny? Cmon, were in the 21st century now.”
OK, we’ll use Infobabe instead.
“Just let the fellow officers of those killed have some personal time with the subject and look the other way....”
In the old days he would have never made it to the police station.
Aw, c’mon. You’re just baiting her now.
She’ll be calling you a master baiter next.
“Cue the right wing militia propaganda... Im sure theyve still got their talking points back from during Clintons Administration...”
The left wing now has their new “McVeigh” for another decade.
Enjoying your repartee with canaan. Do you have any scientific documentation to back this up? You've been pretty logical so far but this isn't true...
This is just too weird. I wish My late Father and late Father In law were still with us. They were both LEO's. They always had a second sense about things like what is happening around the country with all these cop related deaths and people shoot outs. That didn't sound quite right but you know what I mean!
Remember what "rhambo" said. "Never let a good crisis go to waste".
PA has only had 3 executions since the death penalty was re- instituted.Only after they have given up all appeals and requesting that their sentence be carried out.
I love your tagline. One of my favorite verses for eons. One we should all concentrate on every day and night, especially when discussing and considering a subject like this.
In my house, we call it” The Pittsburgh Putz Gayzette”
All that is fit is news.
I’m certainly not saying he was a hero; I think he’s mentally unstable. I think you’re missing my point. Suppose that the strange people on TV claiming to be his friends really are accurate and he was fearful of an Obama gun ban and the administration actually pursues gun legislation based on this incident. How would that not make this idiot into a martyr for the cause? You don’t think somebody would say he’s the first fall person to fall in the battle for the Second Amendment? My point is the administration’s actions will dictate at least in part how this guy is viewed by many.
Oh, I see what you mean. But I really don’t think it would be possible to make a homicidal nut like this into a “martyr for the cause,” and if it did, in fact, such a reaction would give the Obama administration all the legitimation it needed to go after any and all weapons. So I don’t think people would want to go there.
What I’d like to see would be a little less emphasis on the weapons used, in any case, and a little more on providing adequate mental health care to people who are threats to others. Heck, somebody went nuts in New York a few months ago and killed and wounded several passersby - with a large kitchen knife. He was also a diagnosed schizophrenic who was receiving the famous “community based mental health care,” that is, none at all.
To be honest, I don’t think it’s possible either. At the very least I should say it makes absolutely no sense to me. In a sane world (obviously not the one we live in today) the gun isn’t the focus, the guy is properly labeled a paranoid mental defect and executed for his crimes. However, we know all too well the administration wants to pursue restrictions on guns. Here, if they do that, they’re adding validity to his supposed argument. In the general case it’s dangerous to add any validity to the rants of a paranoid person.
The weapons used are unimportant and in many cases coincidental to the crime. Murders have certainly been around much, much longer than guns have. (I did read recently though that knife restrictions have already come or were coming to the UK.) You can’t legislate the evil out of the hearts of men, but that certainly doesn’t stop people from trying. (Others would say they already know this and simply want the people to be disarmed.)
I will say I’m of the opinion that some people (not many) are simply broken beyond repair. Nothing necessarily made them this way. Read about Seung-Hui Cho’s background. The guy was basically a complete nutcase. He had no social skills of any kind.
I could have probably used a qualifier, such as marathon runners or some such (blanketing all of athleticism is always dangerous). And no scientific documentation, merely statistics from events such as the Olympics. Also, I could have said that Asians are generally smaller than Caucasians, and thus tend to be better at gymnastics. It's not meant to be offensive, merely a statistical look at biology and culture.
You're right though, I could have phrased it better.
I don’t think it I know it.When things heat up the firemen get shot at. Read M.O.V.E in Philadelphia.
I know. I am just sarcasticaly reflecting in kind the knee-jeck reactions of the gun control lobby. LOL.
LOL! Good point! ONLY madmen! LOL.
