The '60's were a reletively innocent and naive time. Now we're sophisticated. We even have a Secretary of State that thought publishing "off the pigs" was a good idea. Now that cops are being shot for sport, she'll decry the violence.
Citizens across the country are discussing the 2nd Ammendment and other issues but no on is going out killing over it.
IMO There are mentally instable people and a drinking binge or whatever a night of drinking is amay not mix well with that mental instability.
Add the popular topics of our times.
Perhaps that is how some rationalize these tragedies.
The popular topics just happen to be concerns of allot of Americans.

Gunman was reportedly a McCain supporter who was worried about his rights being taken away under Obama. This is per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.(post-gazette.com — don’t forget the hyphen.) You’re right but those with an agenda don’t think. Not only that but they celebrate horrific situations like this and Binghamton yesterday as excuses to push through their agendas.
Those of us who are concerned about losing even more of our 2nd amendment rights are purchasing, LEGALLY, weapons, ammunition and related items.
Eventually this guy would have snapped and guns or not he would have killed someone. I’d guarantee you he has a violent history, made prior threats, etc. It’s always the same story...

PB, I am trully surprised by the statements the ‘friends’ are making. I am interested to find out if these two really were friends or just idiots seeking ‘face time” for their own purposes. Time will tell.

I am definitely not a liberal, but I have no tolerance for misogyny. Women are 52% of the population, and it’s long past time for the diminutive treatment of them to cease.
Think about your (and Rush’s) basis for the rationale for this word - “ette” is a “feminizer”, so by using it to put down reporters, of either gender, you are saying that likening someone to the feminine implies inferiority.
It’s no different than putting down a man by calling him a “pussy” - you’re saying he is “less than” because he is like a woman - that very clearly implies that women are inferior.
And that, very clearly, is inaccurate.
