I hope that an address is established for the legal defense fund because many of Governor Palin's supporters have expressed interest in donating to the cause. Bill O'Reilly has offered to advertise the fund on his television show and even kick in $1,000.

Ready to donate from here. Need an address when it comes available.

“Bill O’Reilly has offered to advertise the fund on his television show”

Sounds like something BOR would do. It’s a backhanded attack. By publicising a legal defense fund it makes it look like she has “legal problems” —> “no smoke without fire”.

I saw the show...he strongly defended Palin and offered to donate $1000 himself.

One of O’Reilly’s better moments.

Bill is an idiot, but at least he will have done something good for once.

This is not at all what he said or did. I suppose with no TV you wouldn't know.

“he strongly defended Palin”

I agree with that, he said that the dems were trying to bankrupt her through frivilous “ethic complaints” and that there should be 500 people willing to donate $1,000 to clear up her debt.

Not a big O’Reilly fan, but I give credit where credit is due.

“with no TV you wouldn’t know”

I’ve seen enough BOR to know. BOR is a plant. He uses a quasi-jingoistic attitude to seem conservative, but when crunch time comes, he hacks at the base of the conservative movement, enabling people like McCain to screw us up.

Here come the pathetic side-swipes, ignoring the issues.

So now this is a big news story. "Palin has ethical problems". Yep, this is classic BOR.

Quasi-jingoistic? Did you stay up all night coming up with that one?!

You know, sometimes things are what they are. Intelligence is not marked by knee-jerk contrariness.

I will donate if Sarah makes a promise. She will easily raise millions more than needed. So Sarah please promise to use the excess funds as “legal terrorism” against our enemies!

Answer me this: was this a big news story before?

Had this penetrated the public consciousness? "Palin has ethical challenges"?

If it had, and no further damage was possible, then fine. If not, then I guarantee you, a smart person in Palin's position would not want this publicity.

And the answer is no, this was not a big news story, so all BOR is doing is blowing hard on smouldering ashes.

"Intelligence is not marked by knee-jerk contrariness"

Granted. But neither is it marked by knee-jerk acceptance.

BOR is a plant. There can be no change of that fact, once it has been established. The fact has been proven by his attacks on talk radio, among other things. Talk radio has been the primary positive thing for the conservative movement since Reagan. Without it things would be a lot worse right now.

BOR is a PLANT.

Exactly my impression. And here I thought it was about fans of Sarah being concerned about the cost of defending against left wing smears.

That already is and has been the “mainstream” story since the campaign. Never mind that it’s an engineered falsehood. Remember all the trooper firing stories that ran endlessly in every medium? She is incurring massive legal expense, which the state will not reimburse and which cannot be paid from campaign funds. She should turn around and sue for abuse of process, but in the meantime what’s the answer? Let the Democrats bankrupt her family? Make no mistake—that is exactly what they are trying to do.
