cool!
“a failed presidency”.
remember how the dems used that term about bush?
without, of course, any objective analysis.
Interestingly enough, in our suburban NJ school, we are laying off 9 or more teachers this year just in the high school alone. More on the way in the lower grades. When I tell people, they are shocked since the stimulus was supposed to go to education, remember?
Uh...not true. Suburban schools that are considered “wealthy” (the state gives us very little aid since it all goes to Abbott schools)get nothing despite the fact that the residents of the area are productive, over-taxed paying citizens. The federal monies don’t come to us either.
As sad as it is, all the new teachers affected voted Obama.
BTW...my college alma mater keeps calling for donations. My husband, a contractor, is having a slow year. When they last called he simply said, “Obama will save you now”
They haven’t called back.
We in VA lost the poll tax issue long ago. But I agree with you. Unfortunately, your idea would disenfranchise the great majority of the Democrat base. Case in point - 9th Ward, New Orleans - the last remaining Plantation run by house slave Ray Nagin.
But the operative numbers are the extremes: strongly approve (35%), strongly disapprove (32%). The rest is the mushy middle.
Upon inauguration, these numbers were roughly 42% and 16% respectively (the rest being the mushy middle).
Accordingly, what has happened in the past ten weeks is a precipitous (and accelerating) drop from +26% to +3% -- with the growth in disapproval coming from both the mushy middle...and Obama supporters.
From a polling standpoint, these numbers -- and their trend -- are bad news for Obama and his henchmen. And good news for us.
No business owner with any sense has any confidence in Obama. Commerce almost stopped the day after he was elected, people just stopped spending or at least people with any money. I know more than a few businesses that started layoffs they day after he was elected.
Small and medium sized business owners are not stupid. As soon as they saw he was elected - they knew what was coming.
The other myth that libs and union types think is that business owners have no problem in firing or laying people off. This is not true. Most business owners lose sleep sometimes making sure their employees are paid and remain employed.
Didn't Hillary invite the Russians to push it?
I think I read he took over 500 with him on the trip....I don’t know if that includes Secret Service.
I think “Strong Disapprove” is not strong enough for me.
I am now in “WORST PRESIDENT IN MY LIFETIME” category.
And it’s hard to come out of that basement.
I used to think Carter would be hard to surpass, but Obama and his team of kleptocratic meddlers (Pelosi, Reid, etal) will surpass even Carter.
I would like a FREEPER POLL:
“Worst President in my lifetime is
A) Obama
B) B. Clinton
C) Jimmy Carter
D) Richard Nixon
E) G W Bush (43)
F) Gerald Ford
G) GHW Bush (41)
h) LBJ”
Why are they bitching? What is it that finally opened their eyes and will that anger evaporate with a temporary bump up in the stock market?
They honestly thought all that talking about power grabs and big government was just us whacky conservatives at it again. The GM CEO being fired by our president and pretty much everything tiny Tim says has them freaked out.
Yep, this was a watershed. I’ve told a few people that I’ve known and have had cordial relationships with for a decade to go pound sand.
Hate is not an evil emotion when directed at evil itself. That’s why America’s lost the ability to fight back because we’re not allowed to hate anyone, much less those who seek to destroy us.
On a related note, I am fortunately still employed and as my own little "protest" I try to give all of my business to folks who did not vote for the great idiot.
I have one neighbor who is a contractor that does all kinds of home repair and remodeling. He has done work for me in the past and did a really good job at a fair price. When times are slow he offers to do jobs for his neighbors at a substantially reduced cost to keep his guys employed. He was also a big Obama supporter and teased me about my McCain yard sign. He recently asked if I needed any work done “at his cost” since things are slow. I was in the driveway washing my brand new Toyota at the time. I told him "No Thanks", but not to worry because Obama would help him out.
I doubt he will be making that offer again anytime soon. That is OK because I know some loyal Republican contractors who will get all of my work.
And those are probably just the people that were being honest. There may be more that aren't ready to admit they were wrong yet.
His zombies believe him.
I also truly am repulsed by anyone whom I think may have voted liberal. I think they are stupid and sorry bastards.
“I agree. None of these people will get a damn thing from me when the SHTF. They are blacklisted. I hope they are the first to starve because they rightly deserve it.”
We need to let people, organizations and companies know that their support for Obama will cost them business.
I appreciate seeing you are aware of Rands biases. What she gets rightthe nobility of human endeavours, work, creativity, she gets TRULY RIGHT.
Sadly, what she got wrongthe worship of the dollar as a symbol of that human effort, the denial of the Deity...she got absolutely wrong.”
Reading Atlas Shrugged right now. I agree on first part but on the second part, not quite. Rand, in her novels at least, distinguishes strongly between the creators of wealth and those biz-people, social engineers and other ‘looters’ who expropriate the wealth created by others for their own ends. A strong thread of a specific morality runs through it, the morality of being true to one’s own creative purpose and intention, and never taking from others what isn’t earned. It doesnt worship the dollar, it exhalts the creative effort that produces wealth - a difference that is key since her ‘bad guys’ include money-grubbing bizpeople who use ‘the system’ (aka rent-seeking politicial backscratchers) to win rather than capitalist free trading. Her heroes in multiple situations turn down lucrative opptys because its not consistent with their values of only accepting what is earned.
It’s a moral system that is consistent with the universal commandment ‘Do Unto Others...’ even if she declaims agains t the ethics of ‘sacrifice’. She sees the ethic of sacrifice as a trick used by charlatans to shame people into the ‘system’ that robs from creators to give to looters. She was partially correct on that score. e.g “Social Justice” in Catholic circles is a good example of Christian ethics twisted into socialist-leaning teaching.
At this point it is NOT healthy to dwell on the minor errors of Bush - and yes they are minor compared with the massive amount of destruction obama has lined up.
Bush’s tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 helped create a growing economy. The Democrats after they took control of Congress killed off that recovery in 2007 and 2008 by refusing to extend the Bush tax cuts, threatening oil cos, which hiked oil prices, and engaging in other anti-business practices, like min wage hike that hurt low wage job growth. The Democrats further incited more financial mess along the way, like when Chuck Schumer got IndyMac bank to close.
We serve no-one when we let the Democrats falsely pin Bush for things the Democrats caused. I honestly believe that our economy would be MUCH STRONGER today if did not have a Democrat Congress since Jan 2007.
I also truly am repulsed by anyone whom I think may have voted liberal. I think they are stupid and sorry bastards. Actually, I hate them so much I fear my own reactions to them
“I want to scream at all the idiots I see with Obama stickers on their cars. I really want to ram them from the back with my car when I see them. I know- thats pretty bad.”
They have harmed you and me personally and harmed America greivously with their actions. Wanting some payback is natural. But it would be better to figure out how to get them aware of what they did wrong instead.
