In the two days since a three judge state panel handed Norm Coleman a major setback in his election contest against entertainer Al Franken (D) the former Minnesota senator has made clear that he has no plans to declare defeat anytime soon.
"Well, clearly it wasn't over," Coleman said during a radio interview yesterday, adding: "Every vote has to now be counted, and as I repeat again and again, counted with a uniform standard."
Coleman's lead lawyer, Ben Ginsberg, has dismissed the court's ruling on Tuesday as an "April Fool's day" decision. The ruling "gives us no choice but to appeal that order to Minnesota Supreme Court," added Ginsberg.

So you think he should bend over and concede or what?
No, I think we need to organize for inluencing the decision-makers, not simply for media attention.
Yes, Franken is a moonbat, but Coleman would undoubtedly voted for the TARP bailout, etc. as well. In any case, I suppose it’s a mute point now that the dominant libs of MN people have their senator.
Should he? Probably. But would a Democrat concede under the same circumstances? Hell, no. They’d run it out as far as they could and then start looking for other ways to prolonge it. And for that reason alone Coleman should keep on fighting.
Ignore my #62 response - it was meant for another thread.
The 'Rats always call for the 'Pub to concede. They never advocate concession for one of their own. They fight tooth and nail, all the way to the USSC if necessary. Coleman should do no less. Force a revisit of Bush v. Gore and the Equal Protection issue. The 'Rats love to say "settled law" when it comes to abortion, see how well they like "settled law" when if comes to applying election laws equally. I don't think Coleman will get justice (the courts today are just too stacked against 'Pubs and conservatives), but it really is all he has left. He knows if he loses this he's done, so what does he have to lose?
But here is what Coleman should do. Coleman should announce a press conference. Mention the "c" word. The media will assume he is announcing concession. Let them lap it up. But at the presser do an Allan Drury kind of thing ("Capable of Honor"). Announce that you are not conceding, that you will fight this all the way to the USSC and in the public forums whenever and wherever you can, use the occasion to run down the laundry list of "irregularities" (i.e., cheats) that have come up, and more or less come flat out and say that Frankenputz is a douchebag and the 'Rats are creeps. I mean, like I said, what do you have to lose? Might as well get as many swipes in as you can. Let Frankenass take that with him to the Senate.
If not now, when?
Okay - he should fight to the end to join the ranks of a dead party that has no ability to stop the Obama agenda.
If I someone came to your house in an Al Franken mask and robbed you of all your valuables and got some judge to accept that the items are actually his because he has some phony receipts for them at what point would you stop appealing?
Coleman came out against porkulus for one.
Why can’t you accept that his voting record IS/WAS MUCH better than Al Franken’s will be?
I believe I have said that his record would be better than Franken....but that wouldn’t take much. And, on the continuum of conservatism - I know where Coleman stands.
