North Korea has begun fueling a long-range missile it plans to launch soon, a senior U.S. military official said Wednesday. CNN reported North Korea could be in the final stages of its preparations to launch a satellite into space as early as this weekend.
The news network reported that other officials said the top portion of the rocket was put on very recently. Satellite imagery shows a shroud over the launch stage, preventing direct views of what the missile looks like.

Between April 4 and 8, the North Koreans intend to launch their longest range missile, the Taepodong 2 (TD-2) on a test into the Central Pacific. It is ostensibly a satellite shot, but is in reality a nearly full range test of the missile.

CNN reported North Korea could be in the final stages of its preparations to launch a satellite into spaceIs anybody who isn't a democrat really so simple as to believe that the NoKos have a satellite in need of launching? What would they use it for, relaying intercontinental communications so their citizenry could be more in touch with the outside world? I only hope somebody calls Kim Jong-MentallyIll's bluff and shoots it down. There is little he could do about it.

It appears (from satellite views, and Japanese observers are saying so) that they have underground fueling capabilities this time, which they did not have for the last launch. What that means is that instead of a 3-4 day process of fueling, they can probably get it done in 1-2 days. It might seem they would be ready to go from even 3 April tomorrow, if fueling is finished and weather were to hold up.
Also, this afternoon our time (2 April local, afternoon), North Korean military spokesmen was quoted on Korean Central News (North Korea news service), that North Korea will retaliate with a military strike on Japan and the United States if their "satellite" in any way is attacked or molested after lift off. They are as usual ratcheting up the war talk, and hype and psy war, as usual in advance of their antics.

That made me laugh. I know this is not a funny situation, especially if they manage to cause destruction of life, but something tells me this joker is going to fail. Praying for that.
