Great constitutional moment on Glenn Beck/FNC: First he sets up Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal by asking him why he is not going after Sen Chris Dodd for his AIG campaign money. Blumenthal replies that that is outside of his authority as CT AG. So Beck grills him on : "What law AIG employees broke that gave him authority as AG to investigate and bully the AIG employees?" Remember that Blumenthal used(abused) his power to Subpoena the names of those that got bonuses and released them to public, sending ACORN bullies to their private homes to harass them and demand that money (their money) be given to USTtreasury. This is all after it turns out Treasury Sec. Geitner and Sen Chris Dodd snuck the bonus provision in the Pelosi/Obama stimulus bill(that democrats never read) , and Dodd got campaign money from AIG. No ACORN mob at their houses. No targeting of them by bully AG Richard Blumenthal.
I remember 2005 Charles Schumer setting republicans off into a lynch mob over Bush Dubai ports deal and only Rush and Cavuto were urging a calm look at issue. They even pointed out how it would have benefited our country (but Teamsters union would lose jobs.) I was ironically on GWB side on that issue. Levin and Hannity and Savage were screaming that Dubai shipping were terrorists taking over our country. This was beginning of end for GWB.
I saw Bad Day at Black Rock many times and dont like angry mobs(unless they are going after democrats in congress).
Wow, that’s a great photoshop.
I haven’t seen that movie. I just read a synopsis. It sounds good!
As to Bush, I think it was an ever escalating sense of disappointment. NCLB, Medicare Part D, Immigration “reform”, Dubai, Miers, TARP... I know I missed a few. Everyone just reached varying degrees of dissatisfaction at different points on the timeline.
Best Line in the Interview , You are a Disgrace to George Washington,We are a Nation of Laws Not Men
As a Ct resident, I guarantee you that Ct voters are just as dumb as Ma voters.
Okay, I think I get understand better. Thanks for explaining it.
So, now the object is to get people knowledgable on the fact that because the Dems were “rush...rush...rush”-ing the package through that allowed this, our anger needs to be trained on them. Is this close?
Yes,the goal is to make bailouts even more unpopular than they are. Make it impossible for Obama to get any more. AIG is a private ins company that the government kept from going bankrupt. For whatever reason AIG signed retention contracts with some of the employees that if they stay to help fix the mess would get bonuses. Then Obama/Treasury came along and decided it was best to honor the contracts and had Sen Dodd slip that in the stimulus package.
So you have democrats bailing out AIG with tax money, and for whatever reason decided to honor the legal contracts(they probably had some good reasons, but who cares?) on retention bonuses. The issue here is if GWB was president would the democrats/lynch mob direct attention to the AIG employees instead of GWB? No! it would be GWBs at fault for everything anyone doesn't like about the bailouts. Make democrats defend their actions on bailouts. Just like they have to defend Iraq and WOT now to more liberal democrats. Dont let them find scapegoats. If AIG signed the contract with me I would likely expect them to honor it, unless they filed for bankruptcy protection.
Oh, I’ve been following the fiasco on AIG, so I’m aware what’s transpired in that area. That’s why I was trying to get an understanding of what appeared to be a “reversal” in the public. IMO, reading and listening to it all left me confused on what was happening with public opinion. Now, it’s a little clearer.
Isn’t the general public completely clueless? Add to that elected Republicans lack of any principles, and prior R leader GWB starting most of the things Obama is running with now that Rs are complaining about. Obama has public in his hands for a while. He is a rock star and MSM is still promoting that. He can pass a stimulus that creates NO jobs, just debt and liberal pork, and blame it on GWB/republicans.
This is why I hate it when people say “Bush Administration” cause if you look closely you’ll see that his administration was/is a majority of Dems. Another smoke-n-mirrors trick by libs.
Another theme is how democrats finally got full power Obama is using democrats (and republicans) Senate to stop Pelosi bills, the 95% tax is example. Ironic because democrats won last two elections claiming they had solutions to all problems but GWB and Senate republicans were blocking them.
Problem is this works for democrats. They get credit for being Robin hood, and Obama gets credit for being reasonable and moderate.
