Great constitutional moment on Glenn Beck/FNC: First he sets up Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal by asking him why he is not going after Sen Chris Dodd for his AIG campaign money. Blumenthal replies that that is outside of his authority as CT AG. So Beck grills him on : "What law AIG employees broke that gave him authority as AG to investigate and bully the AIG employees?" Remember that Blumenthal used(abused) his power to Subpoena the names of those that got bonuses and released them to public, sending ACORN bullies to their private homes to harass them and demand that money (their money) be given to USTtreasury. This is all after it turns out Treasury Sec. Geitner and Sen Chris Dodd snuck the bonus provision in the Pelosi/Obama stimulus bill(that democrats never read) , and Dodd got campaign money from AIG. No ACORN mob at their houses. No targeting of them by bully AG Richard Blumenthal.

The Peter Schiff/Redistribution Watch Ping. (Washington Bankrupting our Nation by Spending your past, present and future money!)
If you realize both parties in Washington think our money is theirs and you trust them to do the wrong thing, this list is for you.
If you think there is a Santa Claus who is going to get elected in Washington and cut a few taxes and spend a few trillion and jump start the economy, and get our lost money back, this list is not for you.

Blumenthal is a Spitzer/Schumer clone and is up for re-election. He craves the camera.

The man can’t possibly go on craving the camera after being eaten alive on it.

I’m not a fan of Glenn Beck’s, but I did enjoy watching him tear that A.G. a new one.

This was a good interview. The fact that the Attorney General of Connecticut couldn’t answer what law these CEO’s had broken was very telling. He was towing a populist line not upholding the rule of law, exactly why we were set up to be a Republic and not a Democracy.

it’s government by thuggery - if you’re a member of a target demographic, the government will sponsor intimidations, harassment, and ad hominum attacks upon you, your family and those who support you.
kinda like europe in the 1930’s, only using modern technology.

By the way, this is the same Attorney General Richard Blumenthal who had the ultimate solution to unemployment in CT. He wanted to prevent companies from laying off employees. He wanted the Public Utilities Commission to force AT&T not to lay off workers.
Here's the stories about this:

Beck is a very smart guy who suckers people with his somewhat simplistic approach to interviews. He got there in a round about way but what he intened to do is show the CT AG’s abuse of power.

As a side issue: those dopes who gave back their money, I wonder if they considered the tax consequence of what they did. As I read the IRS joke of a law, once you get paid, you have earned that money. It goes on the salary and other compensation line. Is there a line for giving back your earned salary? No. There is a line for a contribution deduction BUT it has to be to a tax exempt entity. IMO, they owe the tax on the money even if they gave it back because there was no legal reason to do so i.e. a mistaken payment or something similar. I also presume withholding was applied and all medicare and social security taxes and I will bet the government is not going to disgorge those payments.

I think the point is that a lot of liberals see Beck as an uneducated buffoon. They never watch his show, they just imagine that he is an idiot. Thus, they think they can roll over GB in any interview. The CT AG was a prime example. Walked right into a trap, he did.
