ALBANY — After a short, tense campaign, the two candidates in a New York congressional special election that focused on President Barack Obama's popularity and his economic policy were separated by fewer than 100 votes, and it looked likely the race would be decided by absentee ballots.

With all but one of the 610 voting precincts in the 20th Congressional District reporting, Democrat Scott Murphy led Republican Jim Tedisco by 81 votes out of more than 154,000 cast Tuesday in the race to replace Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand. A problem with a machine in Saratoga Springs delayed the final reporting from one precinct.

Unfortunately the town has been deteriorating at a faster than normal pace, due to the rising rapidly crime rate. I haven't been back there since 2006 (or the US for that matter), but my relatives tell me that the town is losing alot of it's charm. Hell, by the way it sounds; we probably wouldn't even recognize the place! Did you ever play golf over at Woodhaven?

For some reason, Tedisco spent most of his time trashing Wall Street.

Sounds like the typical clueless GOP milquetoast country club imbecile they put up on a regular basis.

God forbid they put up a guy who campaigned demanding to see that communist son of a bitch from Kenyas's birth certificate.

The GOP is leaderless, forget about ever taking back Congress, the GOP must be purged first, with extreme prejudice.

WEAK AND EMBARASSING

Hey Tedisco, how about ATTACKING the opposition and that KENYAN son of a bitch in the White House instead of talking about how MEDIOCRE you will be.

The result of this election is hardly surprising

Dear Friend,

As Leader of the Assembly Republican Conference, I led the fight for tax relief, a real property tax cap, a stronger economy, more jobs and a better quality of life.

When it counted the most - when it mattered the most - I’ve stood up and have spoken out for the values we share and for the middle class families of New York State.

I promise to bring that same passion and energy as your Congressman.

Serving as your voice in the House of Representatives, you can count on me to keep fighting the good fight for a safer, better, stronger state and nation.

With your help, I’m confident we will win the 20th Congressional District. Thanks for your continued friendship and support!

Your friend,

Jim Tedisco

Thanks,

That is why we need another party - one which will shoulder aside the Republicans to the dustbin of history along with the Federalists and Whigs and one which has the courage of its convictions to fight for America against the Globalists and the Marxists who control the Democrat Party.

It would be a greivous error to credit or discredit Steele based on that trend.

I agree with your comments about the GOP. I don’t expect too much from the NJ Republicans - they seem to implode before election day.

I appreciate the informative post. It’s sad the Republican party’s only hope is that which is derived from the disasters imposed by the other party.

He reimds me of an elitist pseudo intellectual college professor, entranced with his own wisdom, contempuous of the opinions of others and living in his own dreamworld, which just happens to be a nightmare for intelligent Americans.

?????????????????

If it wasn’t for Palin, McCain would have REALLY had his butt whipped.

The only BUMPS McCain got were from Palin and Joe the Plumber.

I think Palin would make a great President and a great candidate along with Bachmann, Cantor, Jindal, and Sandford.

The Republican Party has flush away the RINOS or die. Personally at this point I owuild rather see it die and another party - one more reflective of the opinions of the rank and file replace it. One more committed to its philopshical claims. One more pro-American and NOT globalist.

“I appreciate the informative post. It’s sad the Republican party’s only hope is that which is derived from the disasters imposed by the other party.”

My fondest wish is for the GOP to drop dead and the RINOS to go over to the Dems where they belong, and for people like Duncan Hunter, Jindhal,Palin, Sandford, Pence and others form another party - a conservative populist party, free of the baggage deposited by the poisoned Bush terms. John McCain and the other RINOS.

I can't remember his name, but a Dem for the 60's era said if it's close we will steal it. So you better win by a lot.

In a similar vein, there is a book out by Republican author Hugh Hewitt Titled: If it ain't close, they can't cheat! Which I guess speaks volumes to your thought. It was a good book, but I disagreed on a couple of the finer points.
