Here's a look behind the scenes during Arianna Huffington's stint co-hosting CNBC's Squawk Box alongside Carl Quintanilla, Becky Quick and Joe Kernen.
At the end of the 3-hour show, the conversation turned to the media and Huffington's site with Quintanilla saying, "The knock against the aggregators is that they don't help pay for journalism and journalism is expensive to produce."
Huffington told them what she told us yesterday, that 30% of Huffington Post content is original, meaning 70% is from somewhere else. She then changed the subject to blogging and tried to get the Squawkers to work for her site, for free, no doubt. "I hope you're going to blog, Joe, you must blog. Becky, you must blog."
"Can I Tweet?" asked Kernen.
Huffington promised to be back on the show, "and I'll bring more Greek cookies," she said.
Unlike Cool Hand Luke, they got the message.
She’s ridiculous and an idiot. Even some lefties find the Huffblow hard to stomach.
Once upon a time she was married to a gay millionaire. She got a bundle from her divorce and decided she had some political acumen. She sounds like an idiot everytime she opens her mouth. I saw coming on Morning Joe yesterday and got a load of the size of her rear end. She makes Hillary look tiny.
still can’t be bigger than michelle obama though
she should use a rear view camera when going back
Isn’t her whole story that she was once a good enough lay to bag a rich guy? That’s how she made her money, isn’t it?
Not too much of a stretch.
Had to get away from her some way.
Every time I hear Arianna Huffington speak I think of that woman from “Green Acres”.
Do I remember correctly that Huffington credits Al Franken with converting her to liberalism during their time together on Saturday Night Live?
I don't know. I always thought she was merely a publicity-hungry opportunist. If we were to take back the congress in 2010 and the WH in 2012, it wouldn't surprise me if she had yet another epiphany.
