I ignored relatives that I previously thought had a functioning brain.

Well stated.
I'm looking forward to someone talking about Obama so that I can say,
“Yeah, how do you like George Bush's third term...on steroids?”

Art Buchwald did a column like that about LBJ after he escalated the war in Vietnam. “It’s a good thing we didn’t elect Goldwater. We’d be bombing North Vietnam...” When I repeated it to a Democrat friend of mine, he nodded and said, “Yeah, he’s right. It’s a good thing we didn’t elect Goldwater or all that bad stuff would be happening.”
People believe what they want to believe, and they refuse to be confused by contrary facts.

I was telling people last year, if Obama was elected 20 million people will lose their jobs by 2010, by 2011 40 million will be out of work and by the end of his 1st term 60 million will be out of work.
They just called me a racist.

This is a great post - one of the best ever. You’re a GD genius! You are going to be president some day but then again, you may be too valuable to be president. Good job!

I smiled. I laughed. I chuckled. Then I asked myself
“JUST WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING ABOUT. THIS IS NOT FUNNY.”
Then I shut down my computer and gave up for the day.
But you ARE correct. As my hero BUGS BUNNY often was heard to say, “IT IS TO LAUGH”
