OK everyone, it's time for my quarterly "What Are You Reading Now" survey.
I do this to gauge what Freepers are reading these days. Amongst many Internet sites, I find Freepers to be some of the most well-read.
It can be anything...an old classic, a trashy pulp novel, a technical journal, etc. Please do not defile this thread by replying "I'm reading this post". It became extraordinarily un-funny a long time ago.
I'll start. I'm two pages into "Inside Gitmo: The True Story Behind the Myths of Guantanmo Bay" by Gordon Cucullu. It looks to be quite interesting. Barack Obama should read this book but somehow I don't think the contents of it would ever sink in.
Well, what are you reading?
America Alone - Mark Steyn
Atlas Shrugged
Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg
Playing for Pizza
Just finished:
Vince Flynn’s SEPERATION OF POWERS
and MEMORIAL DAY
Memorial Day I read in 3 days. I would highly recommend it.
“Liberal Fascism” and waiting on another copy of Levin’s new book “Tyranny and Liberty”. I had to give the others I had away ... or they were stolen ^_^
“Abraham Lincoln His Essential Wisdom”
ISNB 978-0-7607-9252-0
Got it at Barnes and Noble....from the racks of ‘bargain books’ ... I just love to go in there are look through those bargain book shelves :-)
Called out of darkness : a spiritual confession / Anne Rice.
Blue Ridge roadways : a Virginia field guide to cultural sites / by M. Anna Fariello.
An official history of scouting / foreword by Lord Baden-Powell.
The radioactive boy scout : the true story of a boy and his backyard nuclear reactor / Ken Silverstein.
Victoria’s wars : the rise of empire / Saul David.
Desert solitaire : a season in the wilderness / by Edward Abbey ; drawings by Edward Abbey ; photos. by Gibbs Smith.
Victoria’s Wars is VERY interesting. The Brits were busy then. Desert Solitaire is fun in a tedious way. It’s very nature oriented for campfire stories. I finished the Scouting book but am keeping it for research. I haven’t really started the other books.
Pride and Prejudice - did not ever get to it in school, I guess....
Anthem by Ayn Rand
Why You’re Wrong About the Right by S.E. Cupp
There is only One Great Commandment by our own Alamo Girl
Waiting for Levin’s book to come in.
Read Flynns “Term Limits”. What happens in the book should be happening these days.
End Game, 1945 - The Missing Final Chapter of WWII, by David Stafford
Just finished The Shooters by W.E.B. Griffin
The Skull Beneath the Skin, by P. D. James. [Does this make me a shallow person? ;) ]
Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn.
Also, Making Money by Terry Pratchett,
And a book on ADHD called Driven to Distraction. That's about it right now.
