Hi, This is the information I received for the Tea Party event in Tampa. Probably much the same everywhere. :)
Event: Tampa Tax Day Tea Party
When: April 15, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Where: Federal Courthouse, 801 North Florida Avenue
Other Info: Bring any signs, flags and posters, along with anything else that
may be helpful.
Here are the rules for the Federal Courthouse:
We are permitted on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse.
We are prohibited from obstructing foot traffic passing through the area
We are prohibited from obstructing access to the courthouse
We are prohibited from protesting on the plaza (i.e., the elevated patio between the steps and the courthouse) and the steps.
It is permissible to use the restroom in the courthouse. You must go through security’s scanner and so on to get to the restroom but otherwise access to the restroom should not be a problem.
They need the element of suprise right now and do not want the tea parties to gain momentum or media attention. This will halt people in their tracks and they will begin to question things. That is the last thing they want.
