New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

You would be amazed at the knowledge that non Mormons have of the teachings of your organization.

++++++

I am one of those who started out to prove this Church was false. I used that great knowledge those outside this Church teach as a starting point.

There is a big difference between what the outsiders taught me and what the truth is.

That is because I believe I am called, by GOD, to witness to those still in the LDS church.

Please share how that came to you.

I thought you might want to read this from Greg West at SPAM
“”””
Jim, I hope you can now see the level of hatefulness that is directed toward Latter-day Saints on your site. That was my only intent. We're not organizing a boycott. I have no political agenda. I just wanted to boil the pot a little and let you see the hate. We don't deserve it. I'm done with it. I hope you'll take some action to remedy the situation and see that all religions are treated respectfully and that you won't let Evangelical Christians spew hate and intolerance of others.””””
My gosh, that guy is really off base.

How did he get so hateful and bitter?

When I first started posting facts from the writings of the LDS with no judgment, hate or malice, a Mormon poster (a personal friend BTW) posted to me a simple question: Why do you hate Mormons?

I was quite taken aback that a Mormon in good standing would accuse me of hating Mormons just for posting their writings.

Again, this guy at the AntiFreeper HATE site is delusional and trying to get Mormons to think that Free Republic is a Hate Mormon site.

I hope no Mormons here fall for his manipulations.

Even after you are shown the truth, you chose not to change what you teach others.

Your light is fading...and you illuminated nothing.

Your teachings are flat out wrong..and total deception.

Just like the deception you are continuing here, and now........

So are we in agreement that Joseph Smith was a false prophet?

+++++

No. but you are still trying to teach things that are not true.

You teachings can fool folks into thinking that “exalted man” and “man” are the same thing.

They are not, even though you tried to teach different.

Was that by choice, or is it just a habit?

No. but you are still trying to teach things that are not true.

Did Joseph Smith teach that God was once as we are now and is an exalted man?

Yes or No?

Do you believe it?

Yes or no?

You teachings can fool folks into thinking that “exalted man” and “man” are the same thing.

Was God just a human being like us and did he later become a God?

Or was Joseph Smith a liar and a false prophet?

The questions you ask now are not the same things you were trying to teach before.

Do you chose this deception on purpose, or is it a habit?

Thank you so very much for your kind words of encouragement, dear brothers in Christ!

I suspect I ended up on his list because of several posts I made to try and explain why anti-Mormonism will never end and why it is often wrongfully received as anti-Mormon.

Evidently it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It was the differences in man's understandings of God, as manifested in the different denominantiions, that caused me to ask if God was real and if He was, which of the teachings is His teachings.

And what did you choose?

The teachings of the God of the Bible, or the teachings of a man who became a god?

Your original question was is God a man.

Some how you keep trying to imply that we teach that God is a man.

If you would take your misleading twist about God being a man today out of your teachings, you will be closer to what our teaching are.

You do not need to teach something that is untrue to show that you do not think God's teachings are true.

Maybe if Freepers would refrain from posting the entire published works of Mormonism there would be fewer “anti” thread entries.

There are many who post “published works of Mormonism” simply to show what the LDS really believe. Things they don’t discuss when you are “investigating” the LDS church.

I was a member for over a year before I found out many of the “meat” doctrines of the LDS. Had I known before I joined, I probably would have never been baptized.

Yes, answer the question.

Come on, many of us have read it in the writings of your Prophets.

If ‘outsiders’ read it, is it not true?

You can always walk away. To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing that binds you to the LDS...particularly if their teachings are false.
