New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

I wouldn’t be surprised that it is all about Romney. He isn’t even a conservative and they were lifting him up like the second coming. Sometimes conservatives scare me almost half as much as liberals. We don’t need pied pipers we leaders and an allegiance of thinking men and women not blind followers.

I’m a Methodist. Ya’ll feel free to criticize them all you want. I won’t mind a bit. Let me guess, you eat a lot of chicken and your wife makes casseroles. ;-)

Silly, silly, silly!

I don’t get ppl who demand to have things their way or they are gonna have a tantrum.

If they don’t like what they see... well, the marvelous thing about web browsers is that every one of them that comes with a nifty ‘back button’.... I use it all the time and never get pissed off at what I don’t like.

Well, the messages come back to me via freepmail and our abuse reporting system. All I’m doing here is bringing it to the light of day. If there is another anti-freeper group that wants to go on the war path against us during the next funraiser, I thought it best to get the word out before hand.

By the way, someone sent me this link:

The FRAM and SPAM Report:

Society for the Prevention of anti-Mormonism? Sounds like an anti-first amendment group to me. Someone has his priorities mixed up.

You know a tree by its fruit, isn't that what the Good Book says? Jim, your tree, Free Republic, has been boutiful in ways for which, this being Sunday, we should all give special thanks. The fruit of Free Republic is truly God sent because it is a forum by which individuals can reap their own benefits in become more well-read, share fellowship, and learn how to form and express their ideas better -- and it is also a forum of education, ideas, and discussion that morally benefits all of America, which benefits the world.

There's another tree, populated by fans of an amibitious politician of the Mormon faith, whose fruit also tells all about the tree. The fruits from that tree exhibit very poor qualities, and tasting a few of them makes one want to turn away from the entire tree with good reason.

God bless you, Jim Robinson, and I give thanks regularly to God for blessing all of us with Jim Robinson and Free Republic.

Yes and why should we push everything off to its special place? Religion is a part of politics those who claim it isn’t or that it shouldn’t be need consider the role of religion in the foundation of the laws of man.

Forgot to ask one thing. Are we sure they are Mormons and not some disgruntled people who have an ax to grind with this site? Just curious.

Because the various religions are at war at FR the activism part of FR will be distracted and diluted—not good.

We’ll end up as religious as ever but enslaved to the hard-left that is in full-fledged take-over mode.

Seperate sections would allow them to post freely and avoid stepping on someone else’s toes.

That;s why it would have been good to create a Mormon section and move them there rather than clog Religion with with them

I must respectfully disagree, AP. Mormonism is a religion and belongs in the religion forum. While we may not believe that it is the true religion, nevertheless it is a religion.

I am LDS, and I support FR, and if I hear of anyone trying to do this, I will call them out with no problem. It sounds like a stupid thing to do. Everyone should know that most of these so called “Mormon” threads are posted by anti-Mormons so they can get a laugh.
