New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

There is also a Anti-Mormon Preservation Society. Online resource for books from the 1800’s and early 1900’s

The post was about the LDS belief that GOD is an “exalted man”, and was once a mere mortal who has since progressed into Godhood.

Another post gave a quote by an LDS leader and “apostle” that stated Jesus was Married, had children and was a sinner.

“...oil rubbed on your body in places usually covered by underwear in the temple...”

Check.

Spot on, according to my ex-GF (of 8 - 9 yrs ago), “Liz”, and confirmed by my wife.

“Only the secret handshakes, death oaths, and your secret name you swear not to speak.”

Check, and ditto from both my LDS sources.

I know what “Liz”’s secret name is. I have not directly asked my wife for hers as yet; I am not firmly decided on what sort of strategy to employ. (suggestions, SENTINEL?)

I do know also (from “Liz”, confirmed by other indep. sources) that in the course of a “celestial sealing” marriage ceremony, the wife’s secret name is disclosed to the husband, because it is his duty/option to “call her out” into the celestial kingdom to join him when they are both passed on.

I am oversimplifying the details for brevity, but SENTINEL, I believe you know well enough to fill in any “blanks”.

Don’t you even wonder a tiny bit why they try to hide their own doctrine? Why don’t they gladly shout it from the rooftops.

I asked that question in my “missionary prep” class at BYU, after being given a list of doctrines we were not to discuss/teach to “investigators” (potential converts).

The instructors response: “If we told them the truth, no one would join.” That answer is why I re-thought my decision to go on an LDS mission.

It’s okay - I have tossed my share of verbal hand grenades in those discussions, insulted “the prophet” joey boy and his “JoeBots”, and I don’t even bear mention as a participant in threads.

I was out of connection for a day and look at what I missed.

I feel honored to be on the list. However, I do object to the title “Anti-Mormon.” I have absolutely no animosity against any member of the LDS Church (even those who get their undies in bunch over any perceived slight) but I am totally opposed to the doctrine and practices of the LDS Church. That is a big difference. I suspect that the other honored members of the list feel the same way.

LOL. I took a nap and missed 600 posts.

And you are right, we do feel the same way. I love mormons which is exactly why I cannot “live and let live” while they continue to be deceived by Satan.

What a bunch a Nonsense

First of all the husband also has to be worthy and with the attitude described here he is far from being worthy

A worthy wife can enter the Celestial Kingdom with out her husband when he is unworty...

you just want this garbage to be true because your hearts dispised the LDS!

Yes, it's very rough outside the protected little world of caucus or devotional threads.

Folks can actually confront others about things!

Scary stuff.

Schmuck? You think "schmuck" is "nasty language"?

I think you should open your "pressents" and see if someone has given you a clue as a gift.

And you are right, we do feel the same way. I love mormons which is exactly why I cannot “live and let live” while they continue to be deceived by Satan.

While I long for Mormons to have their eyes opened and to see the truth, most of the hard-core Mormonism defenders on this site are willfully deceived and wholly resistant to the truth.

They categorically refuse to answer the most simple of questions about their religion while at the same time questioning the motives and accusing those who dare to question their doctrines as being dishonest and liars.

I don't think anything I say will reach any of them. But when I post the truth about Mormon doctrine and post the quotes from Mormon prophets and apostles on the bizzare and demonic teachings of Mormonism, my target audience is those who, through ignorance, might be ensared by the slick public relations propaganda of the Salt Lake Church.

I can only thank God that my heart was not so hardened that I was unable to see the truth when I was confronted with it. When confronted with the truth about the Mormon Church, I left and had a brief sojourn with Atheism too. I was so convinced of the truth of Mormonism, that when the veil was lifted and I saw that it was a fraudulent house of cards, I figured that all religions were equally false. But by the grace of God, I was led not only out of Mormonism, but into the arms of Christ (the real one, not the plastic imitation of the LDS Church).

I think one who wants to enlighten another should be striving to walk the walk !

As far as I am concern your language lets me know that your heart is far from the Lord and as the Lord told Joseph Smith

Matt. 15: 8
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

JS-H 1: 19
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”

Does that mean he gets a discount on tithing?

Don’t be too sure, Sentinel was reached here on FR.

And you are also correct that we post to the lurkers and those who do not know what the LDS really teaches.
