New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

Okay, then you and your friend Fproy2222 have had lots of opportunity to correct my understanding of it, which I got by the way, in discussion with Mormons. Yet you cannot or will not tell us just what it is you believe and using scripture, prove it

Well you see you are not teaching Mormon doctrine correctly ergo you are lying.

You see you must be certified by the Prophet Joesph Smith to pass into the next kingdom, but that doesn’t keep you from getting into it since if you are saved and have done “all you can do” you can get in, with Smith’s approval, not that he has a say or can overrule Christ except that without his approval you can't get in even though you can when you really can't.

The question posed by sevenbak was the supposed “threat” that engendered this inflammatory thread. I can see none in the FRAM website. JR labeled FRAM “anti First Amendment,” or words to that effect.

But, it looks like the guy who started FRAM is just exercising his own First Amendment rights. He has as much right to keep a record of the ugly stuff said on FR as the Antis have a right to say the ugly stuff.

That is not, but the discussion was that it could become one given the rhetoric Greg West has been using along with is “anti list”, which ironically points directly at your point about first amendment rights, namely mine and those of my friends. the post in question shows a precedent for such a thread from an LDS member

If the LDS cannot stand in the market place of ideas, hiding behind the Constitution, or in this case seeking to violate it by shutting down opposition is tantamount to admitting defeat...

Come to think of it perhaps we should be thanking Mr. West and make him an honorary "Flying Inman"

I perceive that there is no Mormon doctrine to teach. None of them have the gift of the HS, not believing as they do on the Plan of Salvation and the Risen Christ, who completed His work of salvation( and thus no other saviors needed, nor can any man now "save" himself or "attain" anything anywhere) and took up His rightful place on the right hand of God.
