New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

You are a member of the anti-freeper site SPAM?

Ya,

I decided to study it out and see if it was a good source of truth to counter the few hardcore-anti-Mormons that spend a lot of time misleading readers here at FR. ________ Remember, S.P.A.M. is short for Society for the Prevention of Anti-Mormonism

It's basically Islam with a "born again" mantra.

But guess which church's leaders embrace Islam, kiss the Koran and claim Allah= HaShem=Jehova? Stumped?

If that is too much for people, I will move on and better spend my time elsewhere.

Bye bye...

Fred I think your name should be on Greg West’s list along with the rest of us “antis”...
Lord know you help us more than most...

Right along with Joe Smith and Brigham Young....Our work would be nearly impossible if they hadn't said what they said, and ORDERED IT ALL PUBLISHED.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young are the biggest persecutors of Mormons the world will ever know.

President Joseph Fielding Smith has written: "Man may commit certain grievous sins ... that will place him beyond the reach of the atoning blood of Christ .... Joseph Smith taught that there were certain sins so grievous that man may commit, that they will place the transgressors beyond the power of the atonement of Christ. If these offenses are committed, then the blood of Christ will not cleanse them from their sins even though they repent. Therefore their only hope is to have their own blood shed to atone, as far as possible, in their behalf." (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, pp.133¬138. )

"…I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409) - Joseph Smith, during his lying polygamy denial sermon

Your post outlines it perfectly - including how it is covered up by posters like the one you addressed, who tried
to hide it.

Can you really believe that?

It's a staple in Utah.

That's because it's good at sticking paper together.

I appreciate your reply. I have been here as a lurker & otherwise for several years, so I think I have a pretty good idea about how Jim operates & would agree w/ what you have said w/ one caveat, when Jim is passionate about something, as he seemed to display on this thread to begin with, he'll answer as he has on other threads both yesterday & today & in the past.

I would just think that due to the charges inferred w/ his thread, that he may want to further elucidate so as to not have his feelings misinterpreted or misconstrued.

I think we should make Fred an honorary inman. He has perhaps come up with the best and most creative method of exposing the fraud that is the LDS...

Congrats Marlowe !

Glad to be on the "list" with you.

I think maybe we should change our name from "inmans" to the "24 disciples".

:)

As a FReeper, Fred, when you saw greg west's attempt to undermine FR and his encouragement to other FReepers to do so, did you alert JR or the FR mods to what was going on at that site?

If he has not already, he knows he will be contacted by LAWYERS from the LDS church.

That is how they operate. LIES in public, LAWYERS IN SECRET. Anything he says they will try to use against him. He is smart.

Consider this as a reason he has not responded.

Jim, I’m fascinated by your virtual disappearance since posting this thread. With all that’s been said here & posted to you, I would think you would have had more to say. Surely you knew the firestorm this thread would create.

Typical LDS re-shift. A spammer starts an anti-FR site. Jim addresses it head-on. Who does Reno believe to be the instigator? The anti-FR spammer? (Nope) Instead he puts the collar on Jim: "Surely you knew the firestorm this thread would create."

Instead of Reno holding the spammer site accountable, he blames Jim as the "creator" of a firestorm.

This is the perfect microcosm of what's been happening for 179 years. Before any Christian ever even knew of the word "Mormon," the founding vision of Joseph Smith was: "they [other sects/churches] were ALL wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were ALL corrupt" (from Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith-History 1:19).

This was never just left as Joseph Smith's opinion. A later generation of Mormons elected to enshrine this statement into the Mormon Scripture "Hall of Fame" -- they canonized it as God's opinion of all non-Mormon sects/churches/members.

LDS leaders then went on to press Christians that they all apostatized -- all, that is, except a 2,000-year-old apostle named John and three Nephite disciples even older than John (they said these people are still wandering the earth somewhere).

The original "anti" was Joseph Smith. He was "anti-Christian." He was against the Christian church, claiming they were wrong, 100% corrupt and embraced 100% putrid creeds. But what do Mormons do? They re-shift the focus. No, it's not Joseph Smith and his leaders who followed who were the protagonists raising up firestorms everywhere they went; 'twas these "antis."

That's been the Mormon narrative all along. It doesn't mean that Christians have never reacted badly in these exchanges. Some/many have. That's also part of history.

But we see in this thread a microcosm of the dynamics involved.
