The United States can do nothing to stop North Korea from breaking international law in the next 10 days by firing a missile that is unlikely to be shot down by the U.S. or its allies, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Sunday.
Appearing on "FOX News Sunday," Gates said North Korea "probably will" fire the missile, prompting host Chris Wallace to ask: "And there's nothing we can do about it?"
"No," Gates answered, adding, "I would say we're not prepared to do anything about it."

Oh well. Now I know why Obama kept this fool.

Has this administration not learned anything from George Bush or Ronald Regan. The enemy usually backs down, if they know that you will come after them. To wring hands and say “nothing we can do” is an embarrassment to our country.

I don’t think Gates is a fool. But he is an opportunist, ready to do what the Boss wants.

Expect the same impotent, Democrat, weenie, surrender response when Iran is soon 1 week away from launch!
“probably will” fire the missile, prompting host Chris Wallace to ask: “And there’s nothing we can do about it?”

If this makes it to either Hawaii or Alaska, I have complete faith and confidence in those two Governors to order this missile shot down. That is, if it gets past Japan.

To: BenLurkin
I think the answer to that question is obvious. I am not sure if Gates is just happy to keep his job or if he feels he can help the country by fighting as best as he can for the “good guys” from the inside.

To wring hands and say nothing we can do is an embarrassment to our country. That's not what he said. What he said is "I would say we're not prepared to do anything about it." We could launch a Tomahawk within hours... if.... this administration had the ba**s. (excuse my language)
