Enough of the Palin-bashing!
March 29, 2008 | Me

Posted on 03/29/2009 1:54:33 PM PDT by Big Steve

I have seen a lot threads in here on our friend and heroine, Sarah Palin. While most in here are good, there have been some posts or comments in these posts that have led me to speak out. For all of you so-called conservatives who have nothing to do than bash Sarah Palin, I have only one word to say to you. ENOUGH! I have had it with finding fault with everything she does.

I'll admit, she needs more work, but to sit here and bash her like a member of the Democratic Party or liberal media is reprehensible. To say she is damaged goods because of her being McCain's running mate is reprehensible. She has brought more excitement and energy than any one I can remember except Reagan. She is young, vibrant, conservative, charismatic, and honest. She is beautiful as well, but that's besides the point. Even though we lost, I think bringing Sarah Palin on the national scene was probably one of the few things McCain did right in this campaign. Sarah was the one who brought out crowds to rallies as big as Obama did. That's saying something. The Dems, the media, and yes, even some Republicans, know that she's probably the one person who can unseat Obama in 2012. They know it, which is why they are continually attacking her even though the election is long gone.

I am a strong Sarah supporter, but I will not follow her blindly. If she does something that I don't agree with, I will say it. But she seems to know what she's doing, and I am just a regular person, which she is as well other than governor. I hope she runs for re-election in 2010 and wins, and if God is willing, she decides to run for the Presidency in 2012, I will enthusiastically support her. First, if she is re-elected, she just needs to work for the people of Alaska, which I'll know she'll do. After that, she should run in '12 if she decides to do so. She will have a strong base of support. All of the other candidates who ran in 08 should just step aside and let some new blood run. I do hope to volunteer for her campaign if she decides to run. That has been my dream, to work on a campaign. Hopefully it will be hers.

Again, for those so-called conservatives who bash her, either admit you just don't like Sarah, or get on board. It's not like, "It's her turn." It's our turn, and she can be our leader. She's not perfect, but who is? All I can say is, she will be the right person at the right time. Keep her and her great family in prayer as she makes the tough decisions down the road. God bless her and her family.

Like I told you last week, his chances of that of nil and none, but he could probably make a decent run at the state senate — though the polls have Boxer walking away with it... Hunter could start now and keep nipping at her heels. We really need some conservative senators.

Yes, we need conservative senators. We also need a Reaganite, non-politically correct presidential candidate. We’ll just have to wait and see. And like I told you before, you can work for whatever candidate you want, since you see Hunter as hopeless. Good luck.

Do you know one of the main reasons McCain voted yet for TARP??? He was advised to by Romney.

In addition:

Romney is/was for global cap and trade

Romney was for Federalizing the health care system and started the process in MA with Romneycare

It wasn’t the Hunterites demanding no criticism or a coronation of Hunter.

Are you sure? I seem to recall that all 3 of you were incapable of criticizing Hunter or having much good to say about anyone else.

“Romney is/was for global cap and trade”

Not true.

“Romney was for Federalizing the health care system”

Not true.

Are you sure you are not a huckster supporter? In case you’re just misinformed you can get closer to the truth here:

Like I said, I’m actually doing what everone here should be doing, concentrating on the next election and then waiting to see who throws their hat in the ring and the debates that start for 2012. It is self-defeating and destructive to start taking sides right now... however, since you are on first name terms with Hunter, you would be a good person to contact him and encourage him to run for the senate.

Yes, the dog survived, but it showed a lack of regard for the dog and a lack of common sense.

Your recollection is pretty crappy, spanky. First, how many folks were banned for slamming Hunter? 2nd, in poll after poll here on FR, Hunter was almost always a competitve 2nd place to Stalking Horse. Except the poll that asked if you were assured of winning, who would you vote for. There, Hunter even beat SH.

I’m concentrating on seeing how we can dislodge the fraudulent marxist occupying the oval office right now. The yakking about 2012 candidates is just a minor side chatter for now.

I'm not even close to being a Huckabee supporter, he is too fiscally liberal for my taste.

as to your denial of Romney on C&T:

http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:OEKApm8YOXEJ:www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2008/6/12/mccain-veeps-and-cap-and-trade.html+Romney+on+cap+n+trade&cd=7&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

Mitt Romney: Mitt Romney's position on cap-and-trade is the hardest to pin down. Campaigning in New Hampshire last year, Governor Romney was captured on video saying about cap-and-trade: "I support it on a global basis as one of the possible solutions. I do not support it for the USA alone. I want to do it with other nations involved." The governor could also be found during the campaign attacking the McCain's sponsorship of cap-and-trade legislation, saying it would have increased energy costs for the average Florida family of four by $1,000 and would "kill jobs."

I’m with ya Big Steve. People have a right to express themselves about anyone, but this isn’t the best forum for bashing a conservative. Perhaps her detractors would be happier if they attacked her on a leftist website instead. Freedom of speech is great, but using one’s brain in deciding where to exercise that freedom is where wisdom comes into play.

And I’ll gladly volunteer to help her campaign, too.

From the link I sent you before:

Governor Romney opposed mandatory, Kyoto-like “global warming” regulations in Massachusetts, opting instead for voluntary, pro-growth measures to increase energy efficiency of businesses, reduce carbon emissions and improve the environment with the Massachusetts Climate Protection Plan.
(Office of Gov. Mitt Romney, "Romney Unveils Climate Protection Plan for Massachusetts," Press Release, 5/06/2004)

... "Some of the most economically punitive measures activist groups frequently propose to reach such goals, such as energy taxes and emission caps, are absent from the plan. It is thus unlikely the state will suffer the economic consequences of capping carbon dioxide emissions. Research has found those costs could reach $6,300 per household by raising the price of goods and destroying jobs.

... "In addition to rejecting more stringent proposals, Romney made a special effort to convey that he personally had doubts about alarmist global warming theory, going so far as to attach a letter to the plan's final version suggesting he remains unconvinced that man-made greenhouse gases are an environmental problem.

"Romney said he was unsure whether climate change is occurring and whether human activity is causing it," reported the May 7 Environment & Energy Daily.

"Romney characterized his support of the plan as an 'insurance policy' focusing on voluntary initiatives in the private sector and mandatory reductions primarily directed at state agencies themselves.

Mitt Romney difficult to pin down.

Make that difficult to pin down what state he might run from.
born in Mich. Lived in Mass, N.H., etc.
Now has a home around 10 miles from me here in San Diego.
He is a looking out for No. 1 guy and we got that type right now.

“This is why the liberals are in control...”

Agreed. Allow me to re-post one of my comments on another thread:

“All you “true conservatives” out there who just couldn’t stomach voting for McCain have yourselves to thank. How does it feel to watch Obama dismantle this country? Are you still feeling smug about the blow you delivered to the RINOs? Is watching this better than watching what McCain would have done?

You have helped this man hurt our economy, the unborn, our soldiers and wounded veterans, our national security, and our Constitution. You can’t claim you didn’t know he was going to do this. Many here told you this would happen. You had plenty of hard evidence about who this man was and you gave him the power. He didn’t win the Presidency. You gave it to him. You are no better than the “sheeple” you love to ridicule. In fact, you are worse because you knew more about this awful man and you didn’t vote against him.

So pat yourselves on the back. You stayed true to yourselves— but you sold out your countrymen and our troops and all future Americans. Our forefathers forgot “themselves” in order to protect the great ideals of America. You are nothing like them. You basically stood aside so this man could sweep past and destroy freedom.

Obama and his minions played you like a fiddle and you became his instrument.

Now I will end this rant before I tell you what I really think of you.”

You have to remember, their are jealous Romneybots and other RINO lovers on FR, as well as many, many libtard trolls, including some who have been here for years.

The RINO lovers who can't bring themselves to admit their "guy" was a RINO, and that includes almost all the people who ran for President in 2008 on the Republican ticket, just have to bash Sarah because their aim is the same as the dimwits: To keep her from running in 2012.

However, you have to remember that you can't really stop them and just rebut them when you can, they won't stop but sometimes you can win one over with facts(except for the dimwits, they don't care about facts), and we have no right to try to suppress their speech.

As for me, go Sarah, I hope she runs in 2012.

I doubt I’d like her half so much if she didn’t drive the Leftists mad. Honestly, I suspect that as president she would be an accomodater like GWB. But after the scars she’s picked up over the last 9 months, maybe not.

I would suspect you have never looked at her Alaska record and seen what she has accomplished there. Just what about her record as Governor gives you the idea she would be an "accomadater". I also suspect you really don't like Sarah, your little comment reads much like a dimwit trying to bash someone without really coming out strongly against her because you think you can fool people.

In other words your comment can actually be translated thusley: I like Sarah, BUT.....

The but is a dead give away every time!

Your link was from 2004, what I posted was his position when he was running for President... which brings up the biggest issue I have with Mitt Romney -—— he blows with the wind and depending on the given day of the week or month of the year or election he is involved in Romney is chameleon and changes his colors with the season. Sorry, but I’ll take a candidate with the cajones to take a position and stick with it, even if that isn’t a popular position with both sides of the aisle.
