In only a few short months, U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Rockledge, has introduced three bills.
The first was a bipartisan bill to make the $1,000-per-child tax credit permanent and index it for inflation.
The second was another bipartisan bill that grants a temporary exemption to certain products sold by thrift stores and charities. When Congress sought to ban the sale of lead toys last year, it unintentionally almost collapsed thrift stores with its burdensome requirements.
Despite his competent, bipartisan record, Congressman Posey is being vilified for a bill that simply requires all future presidential candidates to file a copy of their birth certificate when they file with the Federal Elections Commission to become an official candidate for president.
Congressman Posey is not suggesting that President Barack Obama is not qualified, only that by requiring such documentation it will remove this issue as a reason for questioning the legitimacy of any candidate for president.
Congressman Posey is a problem solver. By making this a non-issue in the future, there will be more time to concentrate on working together to build our country in these trying times. I am proud to say I voted for Congressman Bill Posey.

Something about this one certainly has liberals worried. It’s almost as if they want to impose foreign leaders on us or something.
But then, went on to say that even if the bill was written correctly, he probably wouldn't then either, because there is already a system in place with states Sec. of State vetting candidates. I asked him what the Texas SoS uses to "vet" them. He said each candidate has to fill out a form and swear it's correct, or some such nonsense. I told him that wasn't enough, but he said that was up to the states.
We also discussed BO until I wanted to scream, then when I said that as much as I thought Jindal would be a good candidate he was not eligible either and the young man said "he wasn't born here?" and I answered "yes he was, but his parents weren't citizens"...and his reply was "that doesn't matter"
I gave up due to having a head ache by that time and thanked him for calling.
Now there's a laughable vetting process, especially for this Liar-in-Chief.
That was basically what I told the young man. I also told him I had written to my SoS and asked what procedure they use, I have yet to hear back and that was months ago. The young man said I needed to contact my state Rep. then, I told him I had, and again no response.
I also wrote both state Rep. and Congressman asking them to write a bill that would "force" the SoS to require documentation from all candidates, with a penalty if the SoS failed to do that. No response.
