BIG SPLASH Paterson hopes that having the Great Falls designated as a
National Historical Park will provide a major economic boost

Timothy Ivy for The New York Times
HYDRO POWERED Mayor José Torres of Paterson hopes the park
will revitalize his city.

Paterson, NJ

MORE than 200 years ago, during the Revolutionary War, Alexander Hamilton was traveling with Gen. George Washington when the men stopped with their entourage to have a meal in front of a magnificent waterfall. As they ate and drank, the precocious 23-year-old Hamilton saw in the power of the falls an engine of post-Colonial development for the nascent nation.

These Great Falls, as they are called now, plunge 77 feet over a shelf of basalt. They are a natural wonder in New Jersey but one about which most residents remain completely ignorant. For decades, these falls, the largest ones in the Northeast after Niagara Falls, powered manufacturing plants here to create the cradle of the industrial revolution in an America trying to become less dependent on British manufacturers.

...as the newest addition to the National Park System. The bill is expected to be signed by President Obama as early as this week.

“There’s no place else like it in the United States,” he said.

When Alexander Hamilton founded Paterson, his dream was to harness the power of the falls through a water raceway system and make the city one of the most important industrial centers in the country. And for a time it was, with the raceways driving silk mills and, later, factories for locomotive parts.

I thought this might be of interest...Hamilton had quite a mind. Even his modern-day detractors admit that he would likely have been the only Founder with 1600 SATs.

You could use that water power to generate electricity. You could do it without damaging the natural beauty of the site.

I'd put Madison up against him any time. In any case, read this an come back to this thread telling me about Hamilton as any friend of liberty. IMO, he was a sellout, the globalist RINO of his day.

Interesting...and certainly makes sense since his father was a Scotsman, and there’s plenty of Dane DNA to be found in Scotland (especially near the coastline).

...and I notice that John Adams is R1b like you and me. In my readings on Washington, I have seen it mentioned that he shares a Y chromosome with Niall of the Nine Hostages which would also make The General R1b, if true.

Niall Of The Nine Hostages has DYS390-25 (I'm not sure what the 25 indicates).

Mine, which is R1b, DYS390-23 indicates a Danish origin that immigrated to Ireland, maybe with/as Vikings?(It's the 23 that does that)

My BIL, who is also R1b, DYS390-24 is 'original' Irish.(It's the 24)

Hamilton was a child prodigy and a financial whiz (particularly compared to his successors at Treasury). The Nevitian bastard will forever be condemned, however, by the Bankerphobes and neoagrarians, who have been with us from the beginning.

I have some nice photos of the falls, which I put on my Facebook page. Friends from Europe wondered if they were somewhere out west.

Indeed...especially the Jeffersonophiles. Perhaps it’s Hamilton’s bravery on the battlefield that so irritates them.

Photobucket The Snoqualmie Falls, a few miles from here, generate electricity. (They generally look more like the Great Falls, not this peak flood.)

Here's mine:

Location Number
DYS393 13
DYS19 14
DYS391 11
DYS439 11
DYS389-1 13
DYS389-2 16
DYS388 11
DYS390 24
DYS426 12
DYS385a 11
DYS385b 14
DYS392 14 [particularly “Irish”]

I have the Irish 24 of DYS390 like your BIL, and the 14 of DYS392 which is said to also be quite Irish, so I imagine my male ancestors to be more celtic than Dane.

"I have the Irish 24 of DYS390 like your BIL, and the 14 of DYS392 which is said to also be quite Irish, so I imagine my male ancestors to be more celtic than Dane. "

Professor Stephan Oppenheimer, in his excellent book, Origins Of The British, explains how numerous waves of migrants (our ancestors) moved from the Iberian Ice Age refuge at the end of the Ice Age and began moving north and into England and the British Isles.

IIRC, your DYS390-24 indicates that you (your ancestors) probably took water craft along a coastal route and settle into Ireland early. My, DYS390-23, took the land route (walked) north into the Scandanavian areas and later moved to Ireland. As I understand it, everyone with the '23' have their origins in Scandanavia, most likely Denmark.

"So how did this come about? How do you know about your DNA?"

We had our DNA checked years ago. I had everyone in my family checked also. See below:

The Genographic Project (Have Your DNA Checked, Find Your Roots)

My dad's mother (my grandmother, Mrs Smith) has mtDNA U5a and is related to 9,000 year old Cheddar Man
