HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A patron at the I Don't Care Bar & Grill evidently didn't care about leaving until it was way past closing time and the door was locked. The man, whose name was not released, told police in western Kentucky that he fell asleep inside the bar and when he got up to leave he set off the alarm.

John Wayne fell asleep in a booth at a club across the street from the movie studio once and the owner left him there at closing and locked up. The owner returned in the morning and Wayne was in the kitchen cooking eggs.

There used to be a local bar "He's not Here".

The title reminds me of all those threads where knuckleheads post “Why should I care about ____.”

“There’s a bloke out here with a hook.”

Jeffrey Bernard was brilliant. Used to read him in the Low Life column in the Speccie in the Olden Days. Taki had the High Life counterpart.

A fellow both made, and destroyed, by alcohol. I wonder if he ever did make good on his threat of suicide...by bananas...

I was working in the server room (in the basement) of a bank once, and everybody seemed to have forgotten that I was there. When I finished, I headed up the stairs, and when I got into the lobby, everyone was gone, all the lights were off and the doors were locked. I also set off an alarm. So I went outside to wait for the police, but after about 15 minutes, there was still nobody there, though the alarm was still sounding. I called the bank's help desk, told them what was going on, and after about another 5 minutes, took off.

And then there was the time (at another bank) that I was locked in their underground parking garage for nearly 3 hours! That cost them an additional $675!

When on assignment in Germany I would sometimes be working in the back room at our local office until the last local employee would leave; then I'd have to leave too.

One day the inevitable happened--they forgot I was there. I'm guessing it was about thirty minutes after they locked the place up that I walked out into the hall.

Had to call the office manager, who was in another city that day, and then had to deal with the local Polizei. Through the glass front door, which had locked when the alarm went off. Finally rescued by the bulding manager, who lived in an apartment on the top floor.
