I’d say ‘Ah, hell, Obama!’

William Kristol is a big-government globalist who in full agreement with most of Obama's agenda.

I hate to be the one to dispel any silly notions to the contrary that are still held by misguided people who think he's actually a "conservative."

Forgive me if I find the question a bit strange. Are you implying that Kristol is attempting to lead us somewhere, or that he has some sort of influence with the Obama administration?

Are you suggesting that we should not support the war in Afghanistan?

The neocons never met a foreign war that they didn’t like. Now...that Obama has shown himself to be a felllow Wilsonian, the neocons are more than happy to abandon the GOP and return to their original home in the Democratic party. They hover around power likes moths to a flame.

It’s not Obama’s war. It’s America’s. And I pray he listens to the generals

It has become a futile crusade and sinkhole with no apparent purpose. Moreover, we can’t afford it. Now...if you want to blindly follow Obama that is your right but please don’t ask me to pay for it. The pretense that we were chasing Bin Laden has been given up years ago.

Please define in one sentence the goal of Obama’s war. Capture Bin Laden? Do you really believe that?

Never mind, forgive me. I read your question incorrectly.

Blindly? No. Regretfully? Probably. The real difficulty is that the country really was being used for training camps and a staging area for at least one successful attack on U.S. soil. It isn't an imperialistic project.

I don’t think he will listen and therefore it is his...to the detriment of us all.

Who cares what Kristol thinks. This war was started by AQ and the Taliban, not us. GWB invaded with 95% of REAL conservatives in support of it, not to mention the vast majority of Americans.

Heard part of this speech. Whoever wrote it and we can be sure it wasn’t Obama in any shape or form, was pretty clear and exact.

This is in fact the only “Obama” speech I’ve heard. It was actually serious and cited the threat to the West being laid by Al Qaeda in operational plans in Pakistan.

So this was a serious speech that merits attention because it is acknowledging the threat to all of us here.

Now the question about staying power and the military capability remains to be seen. The combat brigades requested will remain unfulfilled even with the increases over the next year as I understand it.

So where will we be in a year or so? If we aren’t able to disrupt the known 150+ camps of Al Qaeda now, how do we expect to stop their operations?

Kristol and others do not have this awareness apparently. it will be moot if Al Qaeda is able to execute an operation in the West.
