YouTube star summoned to White House?
WorldNetDaily ^ | 03/26/2009

The man who created two phenomenally successful "We The People" YouTube videos urging Americans to stand up against Congress and reclaim their republic now – or perhaps lose it forever – reportedly has been summoned to the White House by President Obama to discuss the subject matter of the short films.

Bob Basso, who posts videos under the name funbobbasso on YouTube, has created videos in which he portrays Thomas Paine, author of the "Common Sense" pamphlet that made the case for independence during the American Revolution.

Basso, whose website offers his services as a motivational speaker, uses the YouTube presentations to condemn "non-representing representatives" and warns, "Only when they feel the almighty wrath of 'We The People' marching in the streets from California to New York shouting 'We're mad as hell and we want our country back' will they get the message they work for you."

To equate Leno with Rush is strait, well I'm looking for a decent word here, I'll just say imbecilic.

Obviously.

Neither are entertainers or have large audiences or make lots of money.

Nothing in common there at all.

How imbecilic of me.

Egads, perish the thought. You know, I can see no good reason to have this guy to the WH. I bet he will be threatened in some way.

The idea smells.

Interesting analysis. I had not heard he was for doing away with the Electoral College. I know there are several states trying to pave the way for this (Colorado being the latest). Thanks for posting.

Unless he’s squeaky clean, and few of us are, I suspect that they will have completed oppositional research and will be ready to use it. He shouldn’t go.

That’s what I was thinking. Kind of scary isn’t it?

I just ran across one of this guy’s videos the other day. Didn’t listen to all of it, but what I did hear I agreed with... I hope he doesn’t get starstruck or anything when he gets there, and I hope he has the guts to tell Obama whats what...

Note to Mr. Basso:

Please ask “The Usurper of the Office of President of the United States” and “The Occupier of the White House (The Peoples House)” if he is aware of Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the US Constitution and then ask him for his birth certificate.

Thanks.

He should insist on a televised meeting with no teleprompters. Any private meeting with Obomination will include intimidation, threats of violence, and perhaps actual violence. At least he should insist that his camera crew be allow to record the event for later posting on YouTube.

From this point forward, he needs to be remotely wired 7x24 everywhere he goes so that he can capture incoming threats for broadcast on YouTube. There will be threats. If Obumblehead’s thugs won’t let bank CEOs leave the room unless they sign on to unnecessary bailout funds, imagine what they do when somebody is ‘encouraging civil unrest’.

Community organizing is only allowed when it serves Obummer’s purpose.

Obama will tell him he’s right about abolishing the electoral college and announce a bill to do so in his name...

Well, one thing I’ll tell you right off the bat that I do NOT agree with as far as this man’s proposals are concerned is the MANDATORY SERVICE... We just passed a HUGE “volunteer” bill that we managed to get the Mandatory phrasing taken out of (at least we got THAT done even if we couldn’t stop it). It would be playing into Obama’s and the government’s hands to require 2 years of service from every citizen...

The thing I realized is that Obama is most likely picking and choosing people he can use — even if they sound like they are against him.

I hope Bob is very good at withstanding flattery...

The Electoral College is a very important part of our government and should not be dissolved.

It’s not perfect, but it’s better than a system where a candidate need only campaign in NYC, LA, Houston, SF, Detroit, Portland, Seattle, Austin, and a few other big cities to win.

In fact, without the Electoral College, there would be NO NEED to represent ANY rural citizen, at all, at least so far as winning elections is concerned.

Maybe maybe not. It's debatable, given the state of most young people today, a year or two in the military service of our country, coast guard, Army, Border Patrol, whatever, might not be such a bad thing.

I don't have all the answers, but the man makes some excellent points here.

Neither are entertainers or have large audiences or make lots of money. Nothing in common there at all.

Well, by that level of commonality, I'm quite comparable to the CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer!

1) I'm male.
2) I wear shoes.
3) I use a keyboard AND a mouse with my PC.
4) I work in the computer industry.
5) I'm a programmer.
6) I drive a vehicle with 4 tires.
7) I drink water during the day.
8) I'm married to a woman and have children.
9) My hair is thinning.
10) I'm over 40.

Yes, I caught that too but didn't take it to your conclusion, good catch. In another video on the site, the Iraq war is blamed for our "world reputation"

I have reservations about them
