OUR PROPOSAL:
curbs spending
Limits the Federal Budget from Growing Faster than Family Budgets
Instead of spending money on wasteful programs under the guise of stimulus and investments, Republicans seek to ensure that the federal budget cannot grow faster than families ability to pay the bill.
Provides Universal Access to Health Care and Secures Entitlements
Instead of accelerating the demise of our nations large entitlement programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, and creating new unsustainable entitlements, Republicans seek to provide universal access to affordable health care and to address our entitlements trillion dollar unfunded liabilities with common-sense reforms that ensure our children and grandchildren can secure future benefits.
creates jobs and lowers taxes
Lowers Taxes
Instead of raising taxes on all Americans in the midst of a recession, Republicans seek to reduce the tax burden on working families and small businesses, in order to create jobs and unlock private capital.
Keeps Energy and Fuel Costs Low
Instead of taxing all energy users with a new national energy tax that will cost up to $3,128 per household, Republicans want energy independence with increased development of all our natural resources, including renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar. controls the debt
Ends the Bailouts and Reforms the Financial System
Instead of nationalizing our financial system and heaping trillions of dollars of debt on future generations, Republicans want to protect taxpayers and provide a transparent recovery process that does not favor those that have made unsound business decisions. We will ensure that this financial crisis can never occur again.
Keeps the Cost of Living Low
Instead of returning to double digit levels of inflation and the failed economic policies of the 1970s, Republicans support maintaining the cost of living after witnessing the booms and busts triggered by loose monetary policy.

For Discussion.
Personally, it stinks.
This “Road to Recovery” is long on rhetoric and short on facts. The rhetroic itself is scary!
“Republicans seek to ensure that the federal budget cannot grow faster than families ability to pay the bill.”
Since when is THAT a Republican Principle?
How about “Republicans seek to ensure that the federal budget cannot grow unless the expenditures are clearly necessary and fulfill a function provided for in the Constitution.”
They missed the point and are still trying to placate the left
My suggestion:
1) Implement the Fair Tax proposal ASAP
2) 33% reduction of government workforce/programs ASAP
3) Open up lands for oil/gas development ASAP
4) Severely curltail power of EPA
5) Enact term limits
...just for starters
It’s pretty much laid out in the Constitution as to what every elected official’s job is...protect EACH citizen’s GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS under said Constitution!!
But today our Constitution is considered a ‘living, breathing document’ that needs updating every few minutes. *Rolleyes*
What a mess we’re in.
Work locally; make a plan to take back seats nationally! Again, it’s not that hard!
Liberal Lite Manifesto.
But if we did those things, they might actually work and we’d get our country back again...the last thing the Dems want.
I agree, though, your plan is really all it would take.
This is what we’re putting on the table? Obama makes a hole big enough to drive a Mack truck through and we get universal health care from the GOP? WTF? We’re going to lose! AGAIN!
Received in email this morning and not substantiated, but in my view an excellent idea and a lot cheaper than what we’re doing now:
This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on How would you fix the economy? One guy nailed it.
Dear Mr. President,
Patriotic retirement: Theres about 40 million people over 50 in the work force;
Pay them $1million apiece severance with stipulations:
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings. Unemployment fixed..
2) They buy new American cars. Forty million cars ordered.. Auto industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage. Housing crisis fixed.

Agreed. It stinks.
A far more effective presentation would have been a simple declaration of philosophy, “We, the Republican Party, believe in FREEDOM.” Perhaps even a repeat of Reagan’s wonderful axiom: “Government isn’t the solution, Government is the problem!”
As to specific proposals, ten enumerated points would have sufficed. Written in clear, simple terms even the Media cannot spin. People are already sick and tired of the Dear Leader and his utterly incompetent sidekicks. The time to present a viable, clear alternative was ripe.
Just when the stupid elected representatives of the Republican Party have a moment when all eyes are upon them, they issue this confusing gabble of wonkish, rat-lite nonsense. Great job, Boehner...
I originally intended to post it in it’s entirety - but, after having cut & pasted the text from the PDF - I luckily previewed ... one nice big paragraph! (Actually qute fitting, but I digress).
Read the whole thing at the link - 99% is garbage.
CINOs. Not gonna get me back with this crap. I guess 26% is just not low enough.
I read it yesterday when it was relesed. Just a lot of wonkish gobbledegook...
I don’t know what is wrong with those clowns. The thing that made Reagan and Newt so successful were their reliance on simple, declarative statements that left no question in the listener’s mind as to their intentions. What is it that prevents these fools from seeing this basic, common-sense point?
It is frustrating indeed to be saddled with such incomeptent boobs as our “leaders” at this time. We could be making huge gains and effectively countering the Dear Leader. Instead, they’re playing focus-group games and trying to imitate the Dear Leader. Fools...
