NEW YORK – The Freedom Tower is out. One World Trade Center is in.
The agency that owns ground zero confirmed Thursday that the signature skyscraper replacing the towers destroyed on Sept. 11 will be more commonly known as One World Trade Center.
The building under construction at the site was named the Freedom Tower in the first ground zero master plan. Officials at the time said the tallest, most symbolic of five planned towers at the site would demonstrate the country's triumph over terrorism.

The designers feeled the change from “Freedom Tower” to something else was appropriate given the fact Americans don’t seem to care their freedoms are fading fast under the new administration...

If they wanted to prove how tough we American’s can be they would have just rebuilt the Original World Trade Center Taller and Stronger than it was.
You ask a good question. At any other point in our nation’s history, it would have been built by now. But we live in a touchy-feely age, so we have to get approval from the animals who smashed the towers to build replacements. And they have not been forthcoming. We have 9/11 memorials around the country that honor the terrorists along with the victims.
The term ‘War on Terror’ is gone. Freedom tower is now One World Trade Center. Let’s just pretend nothing happened. What ever happened to ‘Never Forget’?

I think the utmost disrespect has been let it sit as an empty hole all this time. Secondary to that would be that anyone considered to make it a place to honor Islam in any way, shape or form through some ridiculous “diversity” memorial. Screw Islam.
It’s probably going to take longer to finish than it took us to get to the moon.
“One World Trade Center” is easier for people to identify with than “Freedom Tower”? People have trouble identifying with freedom? What a chilling thought!
Or they could put a gold dome on it and blast this CRAP 5 times a day.
I lived over there (Kuwait) for 2 years as a teenager and that CRAP was the most irritating (and scary) sound in the world. We had 3 mosques within a few blocks of our house and when the screaming started you would have to run for cover. I would usually start blasting whatever music I was listening to at the time to try and block it out (Yes, I was a young “Ugly American” with no respect for the “brilliant culture” that surrounded me).

Oh great. How many thousands or millions of "World Trade Centers" are there around the world? Why not call it something distinctive? The "Oberfuehrer Obama Tower"?
