Israel knows the score as far as blackmail goes. Perhaps it will finally convince them of going the extra mile to try and maintain the status quo with an enemy sworn to destroy them.
In the first Iraq war, Israel was crystal clear to the US: if Israel was hit with WMD missiles from Iraq, they would retaliate with nukes. The US did everything it could to stop the Iraqi missiles, a wise choice.
Now, if the US actively creates a threat against Israel, then Israel has no choice but to expel its enemies from its borders. Gaza Arabs can get used to living in Egypt, and if the West Bank Arabs try it on, they can get used to living in Jordan.
First to go will be any illusion of a divided Jerusalem, and the al-Asqa mosque is plowed flat, so the Temple can be rebuilt.
