President Obama to give (yet another) prime time press conference Tuesday
Examiner ^ | 3/23/2009 | Examiner

Fans of American Idol might be disappointed that the show is being pre-empted for the prime time press conference President Barack Obama will be holding on Tuesday night, but most of us would probably rather hear more about the federal budget. That is, of course, what Obama will be speaking about before reporters start asking questions. The deficit, buying bad bank assets, and energy policies will likely be high on the list of issues he addresses.

The press conference will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST in the East Room of the White House. All of the major networks and cable news channels will carry it, and online coverage on CNN Live will begin at 4:45 p.m. PST / 7:45 p.m. EST.

It will be interesting to see if Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's name comes up, as well as Energy Secretary Steven Chu. And with the Dow rising with the news of the bank assets plan it will also be interesting to see if an optimistic mood can be sustained. Finally, because some reporters can usually be counted on to ask a frivolous question, one wonders if Obama will be asked about his NCAA basketball picks.

49.5 million people watched Obama's first prime time press conference on February 9. Nearly 52.4 million people tuned in to Obama addressing a joint session of Congress on February 24. Stay tuned for tomorrow night's numbers. They may be a sign of how worried we are.

FOX should hire Rush Limbaugh to do followups on these prime-time press conferences/TOTUS speeches. He would probably even let them run ads to help make up for their lost revenue.

Pre-screened questions, of course.

I like to call Obambi (BIRD!) “telepromptee-in-chief”, or TIC for short, to distinguish him from the intelligence of the teleprompter itself! ;-P

This will be the SECOND time. Could he be hoping for the AI audience to tune him in ‘by accident’? I won’t be one. My TV will be off tonight.

Yeah, I agree, mine will be tuned into the DVD or something on the Military Channel. I frankly cannot stand watching this walking bronze headed statue. If I heard the tele prompter was off, I would watch just for the enjoyment but I am sure that will be in fine working order and in sync with the carefully scripted questions.

In case you want a snipet of comments, here they are:
“I inherited a terrible situation”(but I was not really in the Senate voting on these disasters).

We have to more forward (when you are on the edge of a cliff, you don’t move forward).

“I have complete faith in my Sec of Treasury” (he makes a great heat shield)

“My programs have broad support across all segments of our society”(Er, that would be my socialist society)

“I have initiated many new forays into our foreign policy” (well, at least I got Clinton out of the country and went on U tube, so what if they were rebuked)

“Our economy is coming back quicker then even I envisioned” (That bit about the depression I was hawking was a joke anyway just to get the simple minded to vote for me)

on and on.

That is what I’m not so sure about. If 0bama is truly unbalanced and he or they have surrounded him with very dangerous people...what recourse do the American people have?

Dear God - will the torture never cease? And yes, thank you, God, for The Real Housewives of New York - alternative lib-tard entertainment at its best - and a no Obamanation zone.

I got rid of the TV when the stations were mandated to go digital. I really don’t miss it. Why do we need to be continually entertained?

He has changed his name again...just the middle. His name now is Barack “Hollywood” Obama.

I hope his teleprompter has its act together.

Did you hear the message he sent to the space station today? Hussein the Failure cannot put a simple greeting together without it being full of "Uh, uh, ah, uh, ah, uh, . . . . . "

"what is his problem. I don’t need to see him on TV every day."

So--don't see him every day on TV--turn the damn thing off!
