Ammunition update in California & What You Can Do!
Please read and see how this will apply to all of us.
Long Beach City Council to Vote on Ammunition Registration Tuesday
March 24
Please Make Your Opposition Heard!
On Tuesday, March 24, the Long Beach City Council is set to vote on whether to draft an ordinance to force ammunition sellers in Long Beach to record the identity of all ammunition purchasers, as well as other details of the sales transaction. These records would then be collected and used by the Long Beach Police Department to identify purchasers who are legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.
This ordinance will do nothing to reduce crime. It is simply an attempt to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
The results of previous ammunition registration experiments have been so dismal that other cities have abandoned these schemes rather than pay to maintain them.
The ordinance is also illegal. These ammunition registration ordinances are preempted by state law and constitute an unconstitutional infringement on the Second Amendment.
Your help is needed to defeat this proposal. Please call and email the Long Beach City Council and/or attend the City Council meeting on March 24, 2009 and voice your opposition. Tell your neighbors to do the same. For contact information for the Long Beach City Council, please click here.

To save time, below I have complied a list of the Long Beach Council members and their contact info. Please voice your opposition to this proposal; Call, E-mail and Fax these council members, and help us defeat this. This is very costly and totally ineffective against crime, Different cities have tried this very same thing before and in EVERY case they have dropped it because it did nothing but waist time and money.......... If this passes in L.B. your city could be next, and it may not be just ammo you have to register for... ............... PLEASE PASS THIS ON.................... _________________________________________________________________

LOL
Alinsky?
That’s right, the teachings of Saul Alinsky (Rules for Radicals), the father of community organizers was effectively used to put this teleprompter president in office. Its high time that we acknowledge that his methods and willingness to destroy anyone and anything are relevant in our political landscape. There should be no rule that says play nice with the left. Use their very methods to destroy them.
Thanks I didn’t know his name. No the days of playing nice are over I hope.
Suggested Action: Approve recommendation.
Guess they don't have the sense to realize that criminals will not be registering ammo.
Who is going to protect them when people find out all the scams they are responsible for.....
we can’t let them start this ...if they get away with it it will come to other cities!!
You are absolutely right....snuff it in the beginnning...
FYI we need to stand up for what we believe in.
Pasadena tried this foolishness a few years ago. They wound up with a file cabinet full of useless data. Much to my surprise, the city council had the courage to admit their failure and repealed the registration law. Los Angeles, however, has yet to show the same sense that Pasadena did. They passed a similar law at about the same time with the same results: A drawer full of useless data. That law is still on the books.
Sheesh!
I live in Long Beach, but I buy my ammo in OC.
The LA County sales tax is going up to 10% April 1st, so I will be making ALL large purchases in the OC from now on.
Be Ever Vigilant!
Molon Labe!
OC is getting liberal too. But you still should go to the council meeting, because if they get away with this, they will never stop.
Thanks blackie...Molon Labe
Go get ‘em, abigail! Molon Labe!
Vice Mayor Lerch asked me to let you know he has requested that Agenda Item No. R-13 be withdrawn from the City Council Agenda of March 24, 2009.
Congratulations abigail ~ Good Job!
