Holy cow..
The aircraft bounced and wind caught it under it’s starboard wing flipping it over.
There are reports of high winds. I suspect they left on too much speed and did not use proper crosswind technique. airliner cockpits are now so automated that many pilots no longer have seat of the pants flying skills. I put it down ultimately to poor airmanship.
Two on the MD11.
Maybe more if it was a longer flight.
What makes this even more tragic is that the crew’s family will see this accident and the firey deaths of their loved ones on tv before anyone can officially notify them. The family would know exactly who’s on the plane.

Not necessarily. I’m a family friend to a US Fedex pilot who works in China, they’re kind of estranged but I’m really trying to find out the information of the crew because they may not hear anything before information is released. If anyone knows anything for sure I’m checking back here and watching the news on TV and refreshing google news searching for Fedex crash Japan, everyone please inform if you hear anything. Thanks.

We have a friend who flies internationnaly for FedEx. Fortunately, he is home this weekend.

That happened to me two weeks ago. I saw the video on Fox and knew it was my friend. I called his cell and texted him — no answer. The call came three hours later.
I also have a good buddy that flies the MD11 for FedEx. Waiting by the phone again.

Two crew members always on cargo plane. My dear friend is Captain on the MD11 & flies this route.
I am waiting to hear from her she isnot home but a trip. This is her route each month.
She has flown Captain on this aircraft more then ten years. My husband taught at Boeing in Long Beach, CA pilots on this aircraft. Pilots come from all over the world for training .
