A report compiled by federal and Missouri law enforcement officials has ignited a firestorm of criticism that shows no signs of letting up.
A confidential analysis on The Modern Militia Movement compiled by the state fusion center has drawn livid responses from people and groups listed in the document. State officials including those at the Missouri Information Analysis Center in Jefferson City, which compiled and disseminated the report to police stand behind it, contending it has been misinterpreted.
The eight-page MIAC report listed warning signs indicating someone might be a domestic terrorist or a member of a militia. The signs include: subversive literature, certain political bumper stickers and the Gadsden flag of the Revolutionary War with its Dont tread on me motto.
The report also said militia members most commonly associate with third-party political groups and listed several political parties and their 2008 presidential candidates.
Supporters of those parties now fear their members will be profiled and are demanding an apology for assertions in the report.
Im a father of three, Im a husband of one and a grandfather of six, said Chuck Baldwin, the 2008 presidential candidate of the Constitution Party who was named in the document. And when they read this, my family was extremely distraught.
Baldwin said Thursday in a phone interview that he, Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul penned a joint letter to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon demanding he repudiate the report.

How many people that meet any of the criteria are documented to have committed acts of terrorism?
I couldn’t help but notice that discussions of the chattering class about domestic terrorists never seem to include William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.
The people roasted in Waco come to mind. Upthread, someone said McVeigh was never in a militia.
...Posted this on another thread. Local talk show host in a speech at the Lexington tea party pointed to the crowd and said,”Congress, fear this”!!!
Seems like McVeigh showed up at some kind of militia meeting here in Michigan and they were the first to call the FBI because they thought he was dangerous.
Same thing in the rest of the country, I guess -- when you look at a red/blue map, the tiny pinpricks of blue want to hornswoggle the whole map, which is bathed in red.
i think this is about showing that not all terrorists are islamics...sort of like affirmative action for whites Christians to make sure they get their share of the blame for terrorism.
WHOA. For some reason I missed obama, and was thinking Culpepper flag! I DIDM NOT MEAN THAT.
DO OVER !!!
I thought something was wrong with your post. I have read your posts before and that statement didn’t make much sense. >:-}
Thanks for clearing it up!
Be Ever Vigilant!
I’m with you MOgirl, it is all 180° out of phase.
When I see all the insanity going on, I turn to this Scripture and it gives me a sense of serenity:
“When these things begin to come to pass, then look up,
and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.”
- - (Luke 21:28)
Thanks.
Thank you for that. Faith is the answer, in good times and in bad.
You know, this afternoon, I was finally able to go through my Mother's things. It was two boxes, from the nursing home. My Mom died on Thanksgiving Day.
As I look to what has happened to this county and the world, and what is going to happen, I think about why it took me this many months to look at my Mom's stuff. I gave into the pain and the fear of pain. Going forward, not one of us can do that anymore. Faith will give us strength.

Penn (of Penn and Teller fame), trashed this report on Glenn Beck. Talking about the political bumper stickers, Penn said that real terrorists don’t drive around with “Al Queda” bumper stickers. They don’t advertise, preferring NOT to draw attention to themselves, so they can keep what they are doing unnoticed.
