(from 2007) Republican Governors Who Wilt (Globalwarming Hoax)

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford have largely conservative support (a few say they are moderates). Regardless, why have both signed deals with an environmental advocacy group to administer their respective states' programs to confront global warming?

The two Republican executives have followed the example of more liberal governors by inviting the nonprofit Center for Climate Strategies to advise their climate change action groups. The states' respective panels consist of dozens of "stakeholders" who will consider greenhouse gas-reducing measures. The groups will approve most of those action items, then pass them on to state lawmakers while environmentalists' hope that the recommendations turn into laws.
...

Meanwhile Sanford said he has been personally touched by global warming, as he explained in his executive order:
For the last twenty years of my life, I have seen the ever-so-gradual effects of rising ocean levels at our farm in Beaufort County. In some cases, it's been watching pine trees die in that fragile zone between uplands and salt marsh; in other cases it's meant finding roots in areas that would never grow a tree, given the current salt water levels. While I understand very clearly the debate on whether or not these events come as a result of man's activity -- or just the effects of nature taking its course - I've had other personal experiences that strongly suggest to me that man is having an impact on the environment. The last time I was in Beijing on a trade trip, we happened to be there on a bad smog day. When I went outside I could see no more than a quarter of a mile and my eyes watered.

Right now I don’t know much about Sanford and if this was a thread truly about him, I would simply read what his supporters and detractors have to say.

This isn’t a thread about Sanford though, this is a a part of the Romney machine attack that will try to pick off and weaken every serious conservative challenger to Mitt that exists and so far to me Mark Sanford sounds like one of those top three or four to date.

BarnacleCenturion signed up here as part of the Romney machine and that is what drives his posting here, his goal is to weaken challengers not to promote conservatism.

The Romney machine must attack this great pool of young conservative winners and bring them down a couple of notches to elevate their store bought package of mediocracity.

Yep. While Barney C's Hero stands back and waits to assess just the perfect blend of words to soothe expectations on both sides with regard to earth-"saving" environmentalism. "Eddie Haskell" Romney is a big-government Republican opportunist, and a trojan horse to conservatism. When I see a Romney supporter doing the bashing, red flags go up all around with good reason.

Romney holds as strongly with the global warming hoax as plenty of others who should know better. EVERYTHING that is or has ever been on this old Earth is temporary. It may not seem so to us because we've only been cognizant for maybe 20,000 years. There's also the all-too-human tendency to think that if so many people are saying it, it must be true. But truth will out. I hope many politicians start to do a little reading and a little thinking. Ignorant people are gullible people.

Ponder this: according to a book on the Florida Everglades that I bought during a stay in Florida, in the past 120,000 years the Florida peninsula has been twice as large as it is now and less than half the size it is now, because of changes in sea levels. Educated people, that is a measly 120,000 years ... a lousy piddling 12 percent of only one million years. Sixty five million years ago, dinosaurs were still here, and had been here for what, another 50 million years before that?

The idea that a human being in one lifetime, or even in our kind's entire recorded history of the best we can come up with, a pipsqueak 5,000 years, could identify, let alone control, a significant change in global climate, is as laughable as the idea that a fruitfly hatched Monday can even comprehend next winter. It's as preposterous as proposing that a magic genii is responsible for firing up a Zippo lighter.

Even when everybody says the genii is starting the Zippo ... follow the truth. The truth is that environmentalism as a noble cause to save the planet and smooth the climate, is a ridiculous conceit borne of ignorance. Primitive, illiterate people have an excuse for falling for it. AMERICANS WHO FALL FOR IT HAVE ZERO EXCUSE except that they assume that so many people just couldn't be wrong, over little ol' horse-sense everyman, a bit of basic geography under his belt, math skills, and reason, could they???

Yes, they can be wrong and frequently ARE wrong, and the ones who knew so from the start were the Joe Blow independent thinkers.

You can’t tell me he wants Obama to “succeed” being that he opposes Obama’s polices and MIGHT RUN AGAINST HIM LOL. I don’t know why you can’t grasp that.

He obviously failed to separate Obama “succeeding” from the economy improving and thus misunderstood Rush. No that’s not a point in his favor but it’s hardly a big deal.

Wait wait I know what you’re gonna say.

“Mark Hussein Sanford “

Grow up. Are you Mofopoltics.com “MP”? And if so does MP stand for “Muppet”?

I'm not telling you anything. Mark Hussein Sanford is. Mark Hussein Sanford himself is telling you that he wants Obama to succeed and that if you don't want Obama to succeed like he does, you're an idiot.

You are going in circles and failing to rebut my argument.

"I'm not arguing with you"

Yes you are. Stop playing games. I am challenging your perception of Sanford's remark.

Me: "You can’t tell me he wants Obama to “succeed” being that he opposes Obama’s polices and MIGHT RUN AGAINST HIM LOL. I don’t know why you can’t grasp that.

He obviously failed to separate Obama “succeeding” from the economy improving and thus misunderstood Rush. No that’s not a point in his favor but it’s hardly a big deal."

Sanford opposes Obama's polices, that speaks much longer than a single remark taken out of context. If you have no constructive response I suppose we're done. Just know attempts to tear down a conservative Governor with pebble sized gripes on the behalf I suspect of a the liberal Mitt Romney will continue to be challenged.
