Bipartisan cheers greet Obama in California
Carla Marinucci, Chronicle Political Writer Friday, March 20, 2009
In a high-profile display of bipartisanship, President Obama received effusive praise from Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday as a "leader in economic recovery," while Obama offered encouragement for the governor's budget initiatives.
Obama spoke in support of Schwarzenegger's May ballot measures - including a proposed cap on budget spending - on the second day of a two-day tour in California in which the president offered millions of new dollars in federal funding to ease California's housing crisis and unveiled a $2.4 billion program to encourage hybrid-vehicle development.
He announced that California would receive $145 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development "to assist communities hardest hit by the foreclosure crisis," money he said would be used to refinance homes with affordable mortgages, buy up foreclosed homes and revitalize neighborhoods battered by the crisis.

Zero bi-racial, may be bi-polar, but he certainly isn’t bi-partisan.
Ahhnold ain’t a republican.
Arnold is the biggest of the bail-out whores. Nothing that RINO won’t do or promise for cash.
Rumor control has it that half the audience was bused in. Probably from the dimocRAT stronghold of Los Angeles.
Arnold is a GIRLIE MAN with a Crush on Obama....YUK!
Of course he did. Eight billion in stimulus money from Obama buys a lot of praise!
I thought the SF Chronically Ill was going under because no one except Nazi Pelosi was interested in what they had to say.
You know.... Bipartisan.
ALL the democrats... Plus Governor Arnold.
Oh... wait!
Is the SF Comical still publishing? *snicker*
Go to Babelfish, and translate “Schwarzen” and “egger”,,,,,,,,
The last few coughs of the Chronicle on its deathbed...it still spews the Liberal phlegm...
Awnuld the big sell out!....Yeah!....It was a bipartisan butt kissing contest!
Pffft!!!
One RINO in the crowd doesn’t make it bipartisan!
You beat me to it.
Bipartisan can go in my “never want to hear again file” along with hubris and maverick.
My “cheer” would have a Bronx in front of it.
1. I live in California where bipartisanship is the process of liberals being liberal and Conservatives pretending to be liberal to avoid social and professional blackballing.
2. HUD communities the most affected? LIE
3. I sympathize with Arnold. He has has zero power over this state and to stop the liberals from spending and taxing. It’s quite sad.
Recently, since his reelection, he has been leading the charge over the cliff.
