Separately, the
New York Times' William Glaberson interviewed former USS Cole
Commander Kirk Lippold and
me yesterday and the subject was the potential release of Guantanamo detainees within the United States. Rest assured that along with imparting facts that verify the 17 Uighurs at Gitmo trained as terrorists and are associates of a terrorist organization (the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM)), I gave him credible sources for that information and both barrels of my opinion that they should not be set free here.
In line with the 'rule of law' that Messrs. Obama and Holders tout so highly, they are required to comply with Section 103 of the 'Real ID Act of 2005'. So, before releasing the Uighurs in America, AG Eric Holder ought to publicly certify to the American people that he has reviewed all the intelligence about them and found no credible intelligence that says they trained in terrorism or are members of a terrorist organization.
The first duty to America of President Obama and AG Holder is our nation's defense, not being the ad hoc defense lawyers for terrorists. This is not an 'innocent until proven guilty' issue; they should not take a such a dangerous chance with the lives of innocent Americans.

There might not be much of a country to take back in 2012, at the rate things are going.

Let me know which port they plan to be stepping off. I’ll be sure to be there to ‘greet’ them.

“affiliated with terrorist organizations are supposed to be excluded from entering our country”
That MUST include anyone who believes the quran.

Just one more nail in BO’s coffin. The administration never misses a chance to showcase its incompetence and criminal disregard for the safety and secruity of the America people. They have backed themselves into a corner with this bizarre assumption that terrorists’ rights and interests deserve a higher priority than those of U.S. citizens. Wonder if they will realize it in time to throw the Uighurs under the bus.

today, on what would have been Fred Rogers' 80th. birthday, I just can't resist (sort of works for Barry O and Bill Ayers as well....) Oh the terrorist's a person in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood....they're the people that you meet, when you're walking down the street, they're the people that you meet each day

Send the Uighurs back to China. Beijing will know what to do with them - and bill their families for the ammunition.

Is anyone reporting that the Obama people have “loosened the restrictions” around John Walker Lindh? Looks like they're getting ready to set him free.

The dims are clearly laying the groundwork to release the Uighars inside the US. The excuses will be that they can’t go back to China and the Europeans won’t take any terrorists if we don’t. As a bonus Zero can get some gratuitous Bush/Gitmo bashing in to fire up his supporters.
