LOS ANGELES – Facing largely adoring crowds far from Washington, President Barack Obama on Thursday asked Americans to back his far-reaching economic and health policies, but warned them not to expect too much from him or the federal government. With many Republicans and even some Democrats in Congress resisting his budget plans, Obama went into full campaign mode in California, using television, friendly audiences and his massive e-mail list to counter his critics.

Without naming names, he mocked Republican officials who call his plan too costly even though they presided over huge deficits while they controlled Congress and the White House.

.. Obama mixed cockiness with humility.

He told Americans not to expect "something for nothing" from their government. Improvements to the economy and health care will take time and require unusually large deficits for a while, he said.

"Nothing is free," he said. ...

Obama have very low expectations of your administration. Unfortunately, I still have the bar set far too high for you.

We’re expecting change. All we got is more of the same only worst. Bailouts and even bigger government

Obama you have far exceeded many peoples expectations. You are far more of a liar, Marxist and communist than we ever could have expected.

No,

He will dominate the news the entire time. What he lacks in new ideas, experience and competence, he makes up in marketing. He’s a salesperson, only he’s selling the people more government.

I watched some of it on CNN. The fawning over him by folks in the crowd was at an obscene level. This going on while he was talking up his socialist agenda, convincing them that health care reform will help the economy. He could have told them he was going to double the AIG bonuses, and they would have stood up and cheered.

But, but the day after the election Oprah said for the first time in our lives everything will be perfect? I’m so confused, I thought all of our problems would just go away.

Sadly, I think everyone on this board knows we’re getting exactly what we were expecting. We may have hoped for better, but I think it’s safe to say it is at least as bad as we had feared.

The important question, he said, is "are we moving in the right direction" and is he keeping his main campaign promises.

No and no.

I suppose it would be too much to ask for him to just sit on his ass and collect a paycheck from now on, but do nothing else to screw things up more than he already has.

He’s “selling the people” COMMUNISM/MARXISM.....and he is good at it, plus they are a bunch of mind numbed robots from the public education system that has been grooming them for this for years.....

FUBO! The last thing this country need right now is “far-reaching” policies from you and the other crooks in DC.
