I traveled to Turkey on business in Nov 1992. At the beginning of the week, I read a newspaper article about 5 members of the Turkish parliament who made statements "offensive" to other members of the body. The next day, the parliament went about the task of making their statements a capital crime. Before I boarded the plane to fly to my next destination, all 5 had been executed. A bill of attainder and ex post facto application in a matter of days.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we see a form of this happening in our own country sooner vs. later... We should all be prepared for that possibility, I fear.
