REASON TO WATCH That is the question, and one President Barack Obama apparently asked himself, too, as he bypassed TV's venerable Sunday news institution for another show on the very same network - "The Tonight Show" - where he'll appear tonight to talk about the stimulus package.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT The president's decision to slip past "Meet the Press" would seem like a massive diss of new host Gregory - in the job three months - but this is politics, and politics is to a certain degree about expediency. The expedient choice for Obama was "Tonight," where he'll talk about an enormously complex plan that will affect every man, woman and child in the country until the day they die - while cracking a few jokes in the process. Still begs the question, though: Why Jay Leno instead of Gregory?

What is also coming into play in this arena is the stark recognition by the U.S. news media that Barack Obama’s reckless economic experiment is undermining the news industry's own shaky financial foundation.

Riots in Marseilles France as rioters are demanding the Obama stimulus package implemented - they want theirs like those getting their mortgages paid for and car payments made - while Président Nicolas Sarkozy is giving tax credits to business to achieve more jobs etc The rioters are saying Sarkozy is rewarding the rich. They want what Obama is doing in the US. The media has become so biased in their reporting on Obama that these people think Obama is a hero and is solving the world financial problems and that Sarkozy who is conservative only giving breaks to his rich friends. Président is trying to bring his country out of full blown socialism. It may be too late to achieve with a dangerous man (because of his inexperience) like Obama in office preaching America's socialism plan by the give-a-way of "free money" and the financial castration of all the rich.
