Democratic Governors collapsing?

It is well known that Jon Corzine's numbers are collapsing in New Jersey. But that's not the only state.

For example, look Governor Deval Patrick in Massachussets, as tested by SurveyUSA. He has 28% approve and 68% disapprove. This is flat across region. Even Dems net out at -11, with 42%-53%.

Now look at this poll out of Michigan, H/T Race42008's Kavon Nikrad. Any credible Republican beats the sitting Lt. Gov.

I haven't surveyed all the states, but it feels like someting is happening.

I hope this is true. My home state Gov of Ohio is unfortunately very popular. At this point, he seems a shoe-in for re-election in 2010.

Unfortunately it’s only a matter of time until the GOP is unmasked as not having any new blood to lead the opening into this breach. Where’s the new blood? Where’s the new leadership? Where are the men ready to step in and say “This is how you do it, with freedom?” I hear a whole lot of crickets.

And many of the GOP governors that are in trouble are the RINOs like Arnold. Again if we just had some leadership capable of forming a consistent message this could be big. But if we keep getting pulled apart by Snowe, McCain and family we will not be able to take advantage of mistakes the Socialists are making.

Watch PA, there are no big names running. I think we could see another R with the outrage that is building out there.

“Democratic Governors Collapsing?”

Nah. They’ll elect more democrats, no matter what. (Either that or ACORN will elect them.)

IMHO

See how long that lasts as the economy gets worse. The economy has been heading downhill in OH before it started to hit the rest of the nation.

It’s a shame our Boy Governor isn’t suffering too much from a popularity deficit.

Put your name on a ballot. Run for office. Be like Sarah Palin.

Ahnold’s poll numbers are abysmal.

“How about the numbers for Democrat Gov. Arnold in California?”

Probably really dismal, since Ahnuld still won’t admit he’s a Democrat.

"See how long that lasts as the economy gets worse. The economy has been heading downhill in OH before it started to hit the rest of the nation.

I don't live in OH anymore, but friends tell me that Strickland's popularity has actually increased since this latest economic meltdown.

The part of Ohio that I'm from, Northwest, is actually more rabidly Democrat than when I left in the mid-'80s. And, NW Ohio never really recovered from the recession of the early '80's. Marcy Kaptur has never had a serious Congressional contender. I can't explain it.

As Ohio's economy worsens, the Democratic grip on the state just tightens. I doubt seriously that the GOP can pull out a Senate win in 2012 as well.

Latests Quinnipiac poll, Ted Strickland down 7 points since prior Quinnipiac poll.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland still has a solid 56 - 30 percent job approval rating, but his support is down from 63 - 25 percent in a February 5 survey. Also dropping is public approval of a number of his education and budget proposals, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

"These numbers are the first indication that Ohio voters are beginning to blame Gov. Strickland for the bad economy, with only 39 percent of voters approving his performance on the economy and 45 disapproving. In Quinnipiac University's last poll, February 5, his rating on the economy was a positive 44 - 37 percent," said Brown.

I’m an engineer, and I have discovered that engineers make bad politicians, because we demand all the details before we do anything. Two engineers who were president - Carter, and Hoover. Not a fun train to hitch a ride on.
